The Anti-Woke Teacher America Desperately Needs Again
That is why, long after the slogans and fads of modern pedagogy have vanished into the ash heap of educational history, people like me will still remember — and endlessly champion — the terrifying old calculus teacher who demanded they think.
That was one heck of a birthday surprise for Sabrina, though. Many happy returns, and serious applause for your staying so calm in what must have been an unbelievably stressful moment.

Bearing Arms — Why Gun Control Is a Bad Issue for Democrats to Focus On
Sure, the issues might poll well in isolation, but it's not driving voters toward Democratic candidates, especially this year.

PJ Media — Scott Jennings Explains Trump's Patient Iran Strategy
Trump can't win with people who made up their verdict before the evidence arrived. Jennings gave people a clearer read: the administration sees a chance to turn military leverage into a negotiated result, and Trump isn't rushing simply to quiet critics.

Gabbard plans to release documents related to COVID, the weaponization of the federal government, Havana syndrome, and the 2020 election.
This isn't high school, bro.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
Other than perhaps some Memorial Day festivities in and around the capital, things should be right quiet on the Hill today — and will be for the remainder of the week. The critters are out and won't return to their swamping until next week.
As for what to expect upon their return, here's a glimpse:
Getting the party-line ICE and CBP funding bill back on track is shaping up to be one of the steepest challenges Republican leaders have faced this Congress.
The GOP reconciliation bill was headed for passage before it was derailed last week amid Republican opposition to the Trump administration’s $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund.
While Senate Republicans largely agree they need to address the deeply controversial fund, there are vastly different views about how far to go. Any new legislative language will also need to pass muster with the Senate parliamentarian and the House — provided it gets GOP senators’ backing at all.
So there's that.

MORNING MUSING
Today being Memorial Day, we honor our fallen. I've had the great honor of attending a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, and I'll never be able to do it justice with words.
Even my photos from that day don't fully capture the reverence and awe you can't help but feel when contemplating the many who have laid down their lives for this nation.
So, when I happened upon this tweet exchange Sunday evening, with a Gold Star Wife making a "long shot" request that someone might see her tweet and snap a fresh photo of her husband's grave, and independent journalist Nick Sortor quickly volunteering to do just that, I had to make note of it.
It's nice to be reminded that there are good people willing to do good things. Thank you, Nick, thank you, SharellAnne, and thank you, SSG Alan Shaw, for making the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸
I’ll make a trip to Arlington tomorrow when it opens and grab a photo for you.

God bless you, and thank you for your family’s sacrifice for our country 🙏🏻🇺🇸
