Vance not only embodied the heart of debate and dialogue that Charlie Kirk fostered, but he gave a window into his life, character, and why he excels not just as the Vice President of the United States, but as a man of substance and integrity.
If the building—if and when it is ever completed—were a metaphor for the governor and his policies, I would expect it to be shiny from far away, exceedingly bland when viewed up close, and built to the shoddiest standards they could get away with.

It's defensive gun uses like Gross's they think must be stopped, not the actions of violent criminals that lead lawful gun owners to act in self-defense.

Dawkins paid a high price for telling the truth. Awards were retracted, and he remains the subject of vile slanders. But he was right to stand up because not doing so amounts to condemning us to a new dark age.
Jennifer Welch Is Proof the New X Platform Algorithm Is Messing with Conservatives
The only way to break it and break her media momentum is to ignore her. Block her or mute her on X. Don’t share her content, and don't respond to her in any way. If she’s going to be successful, let her try and do it without conservatives’ help.

Senate Dems' Knees Turn to Jelly: Reports They Are Set to Cave on Shutdown After Election Day
Let's hope people in New Jersey and Virginia remember the way the Democrats have behaved and decide they don't deserve their votes.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
It's Day 31 of the Schumer Shutdown, it's a Friday, and it's Halloween, so things should be relatively quiet on the Hill today.
The Senate did conduct some business on Thursday, however:
- Passed S.J.Res.80 — A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Bureau of Land Management relating to "National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska Integrated Activity Plan Record of Decision"
- Passed S.J.Res.88 — A joint resolution terminating the national emergency declared to impose global tariffs
- Agreed to Cloture — Joshua D. Dunlap, of Maine, to be United States Circuit Judge for the First Circuit

If there are any Democrats out there who care about the damage this shutdown is doing, then I have a bill at the desk:

Sec. Education - Linda McMahon — McMahon recently praised the FAFSA team for continuing to process FAFSA forms despite the Schumer Shutdown.
Despite the Schumer Shutdown, more than 2 million current and aspiring college students have submitted their 2026-27 FAFSA form — a RECORD high!

Full Court Press...
There were a couple of decisions of note (as to Trump administration litigation) in the courts on Thursday:
- ❌ Chicago Women in Trades v. Trump (ban on DEIA initiatives) — Judge Matthew Kennelly (Northern District of Illinois) DENIES administration's motion for an indicative ruling and/or a partial stay pending appeal.
- ↔️ State of Oregon v. Trump (National Guard deployment) — 9th Circuit affirms that 10/8 administrative stay remains in effect (so NG can be/remain federalized, but not deployed).
COMING ATTRACTIONS
House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-4) is set to hold a press conference on Friday with Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins.
Next Tuesday is Election Day — we'll be paying special attention to New York City, New Jersey, and Virginia.
MORNING MUSING
Happy Halloween, one and all! I hope you're costumed appropriately. Confession: I had a costume I'd planned to wear, but...it's from a few years ago and...well, let's just say it was a little too snug to sport to the station today. Maybe next year? (You can check out our Halloween show — and see what costume I ended up going with — below.)
Today being a day to ponder spooky things, I was thinking of ghosts and goblins and whatnot. And that old saying came to mind: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." And what a fitting description of the present travails of the Democrats. They lost the election — almost a year ago — and yet, instead of truly examining the WHY of that and using that knowledge to move forward in a more productive fashion, they remain fixated on "getting Trump," throwing everything and the kitchen sink at him — and now, pretty much anyone on the Right.
And what have they to show for it?

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
