Tour Guide Explains Just How Laughably Far Dems Went to Portray ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ As Too Hot, Inhumane

“The rhetoric does not match the reality,” Ingoglia told Politico.

That's the Democrat party in a nutshell, right there.

The Internet Is Laughing at Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Her 'Alligator Alcatraz'

It is both funny and a bit concerning that she didn't seem to understand that a sink/toilet combination unit is common in prisons/detention centers. Didn't she care when American citizens in prisons had such a set-up?

Actor John Leguizamo Tries to Come for Trump Over Deportations, Maher Schools Him

Maher then said the quiet part out loud and admitted that what Trump is doing to prevent illegal immigrants from coming here is working.

New Jersey Court Says Out-of-State Carry Permits Don't Have to be Recognized

Today's decision is hardly shocking, given how much hostility New Jersey politicians and judges have historically shown to the Second Amendment. It is, however, another reminder of why we need to pass a national right-to-carry reciprocity law to help guarantee that our Second Amendment rights do extend beyond the borders of our home state.

Poll: Trump Has a New 80/20 Winning Issue

Which issue? Three guesses, and the first two don't count. But if you guessed that Democrats put themselves firmly in the 20% fringe of it, take a bow. (Of course, that's a pretty easy bet these days.)

They Called It Jim Crow, Then Georgia Voters Proved Them Wrong

Tomorrow night, when the All-Star Game kicks off and cameras pan across the stadium in Atlanta, remember the people who tried to make sure this night didn’t happen. Remember the politicians who weaponized lies. And remember the journalists who chose activism over truth.

Notice What's Wrong About This ABC News Tweet About the Biden Autopen Fiasco

Joe Biden is a serial liar, a failed president, and someone who willy-nilly allowed his staff to dole out pardons to people. The command structure they established for this process was insane.

Release the Cringe: Hank Johnson Drops His Long-UN-Awaited Follow-Up Single to 'No Kings'

We hope that's true and it does happen. But if it does, the absolute LAST person on Earth we will thank for it will be Hank 'Guam' Johnson.

We're more likely to sue him for causing everyone irreparable auditory harm twice in less than a month.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

Tuesday looks to be a busy day on the Hill. The Senate continues to wrestle with the rescissions package — will they advance it out of committee today? The deadline for passage is midnight on Friday, so time is of the essence. Meanwhile, Punchbowl is reporting an impressive fundraising haul for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) this cycle. He must be doing something right...

White House What's Up

President Donald Trump heads to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, today to participate in the Inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Event — some big news to announce today in conjunction with that.

Full Court Press...

The Supreme Court handed down another one of its Emergency Docket orders yesterday, granting a stay application regarding a Massachusetts District Court injunction that barred the Trump administration from proceeding with efforts to dismantle/downsize the Department of Education.

For those keeping score...the administration is racking up an impressive win record at the High Court:

Also, it flew a bit under the radar on Monday, but the Senate confirmed President Trump's first judicial nominee (Whitney Hermandorfer for the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals):

COMING ATTRACTIONS

While President Trump is in Pittsburgh today, Vice President JD Vance will head to West Pittston, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday to deliver remarks following the successful passage and signing of Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill.

There will be several more hearings worth checking out this week. And, of course, we'll be keeping an eye on what the Senate does with the rescissions package.

MORNING MUSING

I shared a tweet about it above. Though I've not gone back and verified it yet, I have no reason to dispute it — the Trump administration has fared well at the Supreme Court on these injunctive relief cases. Very well. And the stays granted haven't been purely along partisan lines.

Now, this does not mean that when all is said and done, the administration is going to be victorious on the merits of each of these cases/issues. But it does highlight the fact that many district court judges have forgotten (or never knew how) to stay in their lane, and the Supreme Court (and some of the circuit courts) is/are slowly but surely getting around to correcting them.

I realize it's not happening as swiftly as some would like, but I also think it's helping underscore some needed reforms to the judiciary. And...it's allowing the administration to methodically push its agenda forward in such a way that most of it will stick. For all the caterwauling about Trump overreach and excess, he and his administration are playing the long game here and playing it well, in my view. And whatever criticisms one might have of some of Pam Bondi's moves as Attorney General, the Department of Justice, with her at the helm, is battling it out in the judicial trenches and getting the job done. They deserve some credit for that.
