As the Executive Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Kevin Guthrie had the unenviable task of providing a tour of 'Alligator Alcatraz' for lawmakers who were overseeing conditions at the facility.
Guthrie provided some details of how Democrat officials taking part in that tour did their best to portray those conditions as inhospitable to the illegal aliens being held within in an interview with Fox News personality Jesse Watters.
Some of it is downright hilarious. Take, for example, the individual whom he did not name, who brought an infrared thermometer to try to assess the temperature.
"Were some of these politicians trying to create controversy?" the “Jesse Watters Primetime” host asked. "Where they're like, you know, making things up or exaggerating?"
“Absolutely. You know, I think probably one of my favorites was an individual had a thermometer, an infrared thermometer that they actually pointed at a light bulb, and it was 110 degrees,” Guthrie recalled. “I knew it was 110 degrees. I said, ‘Let’s actually pull that down to where the ambient air is at and not point it at the light bulb.'”
Watters laughed at the story, recalling that the tactic sounds like something he tried as a child as a means to get out of school the next day.

What's interesting here is that as Guthrie is relaying the thermometer story, a reel of Democrat Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) is playing in the background on the show. And while the tour guide is unwilling to name names, Frost came out of his tour of 'Alligator Alcatraz' uber-focused on how hot it was.
"Looking into these cages, you could see, it was warm and hot within the tent, people were sweating, some people had taken off the top of their clothing because it was just so hot. Some of them were drenched in sweat," Frost said in a video uploaded to the socials.
"The food we saw was not enough food. They were being fed essentially a small sandwich and a bag of chips," he continued. "Not just that, but the conditions outside, of course, it's blazing hot."

"What I saw made my heart sink. I saw 32 people per cage-- about 6 cages in one tent. People were yelling 'help me help me'. Someone said I'm a US citizen... The drinking water comes… pic.twitter.com/gnnGJCBcka
You got that? It's hot. Criminal illegal aliens living in the heart of Florida are - *GASP!* - sweating. Of course, as RedState reporter Nick Arama pointed out, no Democrats were complaining about sweltering conditions in facilities in Arizona under President Biden. Nobody walked through those cages armed with their little infrared thermometer.
In another instance, Guthrie noted that one Democrat complained about the "gray" turkey sandwiches being fed to detainees, which they alleged to be disgusting, while simultaneously wondering if the illegal immigrants would be able to get their mitts on seconds. He noted that the sandwiches are up to Michelle Obama's standards.
“That might be one of my favorites, Jesse, is number one, it was a ‘gray turkey sandwich.’ Well, she was about six feet away from that turkey sandwich box that was in a wrapper that I don’t know how she could tell it was gray,” Guthrie said. “However, this is, think about it like this, Jesse, individuals that go to a hospital, individuals who go and get Michelle Obama’s lunches, are getting the exact same thing.”
“But then she turned around and asked as a part of that same question, if they want second portions, can they come and get it? So it’s either gray and it’s too nasty to eat or it’s OK,” Guthrie added. “And can I get a second helping?”
Thanks @JesseBWatters for having me on tonight to push back on the false narratives about Alligator Alcatraz. pic.twitter.com/U7anR4BsRg

Guthrie is mocking Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL), who, aside from being a sandwich inspector, was also beside herself over the fact that the detainees had a toilet and a sink in the same area where they were being held. Or, as most of us call it, a bathroom.
Florida State Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, upon having taken the same tour of 'Alligator Alcatraz,' believes Democrats are being a little hyperbolic with their assessments.
“The rhetoric does not match the reality,” Ingoglia told Politico.
That's the Democrat party in a nutshell, right there.
Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
