Among the many liberally biased journalists out there, some are fairly clever at masking it. Some others not so much. Meanwhile, there are those who treat putting their bias on a platter for the world to see as a rite of passage in Media World. After all, as they see it, they can't help it if the supposed "facts" frequently skew to the left, right?
Undoubtedly, former ABC News journalist/Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran fits into the latter category. Though he's shown signs of even-handedness and objectivity every once in a blue moon, he is by and large the quintessential Democrat apologist and Republican basher.
In June of 2025, Moran was fired from ABC News after a social media rant against President Trump and Stephen Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor. Of Miller, he wrote, "You can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate." Of Trump, Moran opined that his so-called "hate" was "hatred only [sic] a means to an end, and that end his [sic] his own glorification. That's his spiritual nourishment."

Hilariously, the same network that boasts of having a former Clintonista (George Stephanopoulos) as their longtime This Week host issued a statement on the matter at the time in which they laughably claimed that "we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness, and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism."
Like many disgraced former corporate media journos (such as ex-CNNer Jim Acosta), Moran landed at Substack alongside other seemingly like-minded individuals. In a recent interview he did for the Fifth Column Substack page, Moran finally got around to admitting that yes, ABC News - and most MSM outlets - are biased against President Trump:
Co-host of "The Fifth Column" podcast Michael C. Moynihan asked Moran directly, "Is ABC News a liberal institution?"
"Yes. But I think, I think like a lot of mainstream media, it’s because of lack of viewpoint diversity," Moran said. "That was one of the problems in covering Trump. Nobody had voted for him."
Moran said he attempted to challenge the prevailing newsroom perspective by circulating internal messages about the network’s Trump coverage.
"I sent out these ‘Hey, we should be fair to Trump’ internal emails," Moran said. "I heard from people — engineers, maybe the occasional producer — who said ‘Thank you.’"

Yeah, I mean, for starters, liberal bias among journalism professors in higher education institutions is pretty pervasive. So between that and considering that the bias is also baked into the purported "news" organizations, it would stand to reason that leftist journos would instinctively gravitate towards them. Duh.
But it was what Moran said about a 2021 story he tried to do on the lab-leak theory surrounding COVID-19 that the bias was even more apparent - and explosive:
Moran told "The Fifth Column" podcast last week that his investigation included interviews with molecular virologists and former Trump administration officials and examined evidence surrounding the Wuhan laboratory.
But on the day the segment was scheduled to air, Moran said it came back from review virtually unrecognizable.
"And it comes back to me and it is incomprehensible," Moran said.
When asked who had reviewed it, Moran responded: "Lawyers, standards, and — I was told — Fauci."
Moran stressed that he did not personally know whether ABC sent the script to Fauci, saying only that he had been told Fauci was involved in the review.

So, reading between the lines, if what Moran is saying is true, Fauci was given editorial control over a story about the lab leak theory, a theory Fauci repeatedly dismissed or downplayed - a theory that the press, Democrats, and certain "public health experts" tried to get people - and websites like RedState - canceled over for merely asking questions.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who has led many of the congressional investigations against Fauci, was not amused:
The former Senior National Correspondent of ABC News recently admitted the network’s editorial independence took a back seat to the Anthony Fauci-led cover-up… https://t.co/S1Q267RNSQ

That's a pretty big admission.
