It didn't take long in the aftermath of the April 2025 incident that saw high school track student Karmelo Anthony admittedly stab high school football player Austin Metcalf to death at a football stadium in Frisco, Texas, for the Usual Suspects to inject race into the matter.
Anthony, who was 17 at the time of the offense, is black. Metcalf, who was also 17, was white. They went to rival Frisco high schools.
Because Anthony claimed self-defense, saying Metcalf pushed him after a confrontation over Anthony being under the rival high school's tent, the family started a GiveSendGo legal defense fund page, where Anthony was portrayed as the victim, and over $600,000 was ultimately raised. Contrary to some reports early on in the investigation that said the family was using the money raised on lavish items like a car and a new house, GiveSendGo indicated that no money from the fundraiser had been withdrawn at the time.

Tensions between members of the community were already high before the start of the trial, and the fanning of racial flames and calls for violence by some of Anthony's defenders has only intensified in the aftermath of the guilty verdict that was reached on Tuesday, with even the racist Black Panthers group reportedly hovering outside of the Collin County Courthouse in McKinney before the verdict was read.
Volatile situations like these require people in positions of power and/or influence to be willing to step up and call for lowering the temperature to prevent riots and the like from breaking out.
Rather than be that person, though, Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) has taken it upon herself to be a racial arsonist, going so far as to question whether the weapon used to stab Metcalf to death was actually a "deadly weapon," insinuating Metcalf was being racist (which in her view seemingly justified Anthony's actions), comparing the grief the Metcalf family continues to go through to "the agony black women live in everyday," and even implying that if she had been Anthony, she might have done the same thing to Metcalf.
Watch the post-verdict clips below of Crockett, some of which came from her podcast and others which came during an interview in Washington, D.C. Discerning readers and viewers will also note that it's obvious she hasn't kept up with the case at all, which is clear not just by the use of words like "as I understand it," but also when she misrepresents what happened at that track meet by suggesting Metcalf was on top of Anthony beating him up, which did not happen. Also left out was that, according to multiple witnesses, Anthony was the aggressor:
Let me get this straight: Jasmine Crockett is claiming that because Karmelo only stabbed Austin ONCE, he's somehow blameless?

"He ended up hitting Austin one time... two inches. This wasn't someone who said, 'Hey, let me stab you, five, six, seven times.'" pic.twitter.com/qaHc9hpzWv
Jasmine Crockett says that Karmelo Anthony was justified in stabbing Austin Metcalf to death:

"He decided to go under a tent and simply didn't want to be put out on the rain by some kid he didn't know... There was no mercy seen when this black boy said 'I was scared.'" pic.twitter.com/hU2kXiTfER
Jasmine Crockett says Metcalf instigated confrontation with Anthony because he was emboldened as a white guy:

“Why you rolling up on somebody and being like, get out?"
“To me, this is the culture that is being instigated…they gettin' real bold with us right now."

And as you watch all of that, keep in mind that Crockett is actually an attorney who is, according to her congressional bio, licensed to practice law in Texas, Arkansas, and the federal courts.
You'd almost think she actually wanted racial tensions to explode. What an absolutely vile and shameless, depraved person. Thank God this will be her last term in Congress. For now, anyway.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
