Though an explosive new book detailing what Democrats knew and when about Joe Biden's decline is set for release next Tuesday, advance copies that were "leaked" to the press a week ahead of time are providing more insight into the cover-up.
As RedState reported, "Original Sin," the book written by Axios reporter Alex Thompson and CNN's Jake Tapper, revealed, for instance, that there were "internal discussions" among senior aides and Biden's physicians as to whether Biden needed a wheelchair because his walk had gotten so bad, allegedly due to spinal arthritis. However, the aides concluded that doing so before the election would not be a good idea.
Further, the book confirmed what many of us already knew about how Biden's handlers, including his wife, former First Lady Jill Biden, were "push[ing] forward with the president's re-election campaign despite seeing signs of physical and mental decline over the course of his administration."

Though Thompson was one of the few reporters raising questions about Biden's physical and cognitive health well before the infamous June 2024 debate, Tapper was the exact opposite, scoffing when Biden's critics would make such claims and, in some cases, belittling the people who made the assertions about his declining health.
He appeared Tuesday morning on CNN, not in an anchor role but in the role of book author, being interviewed by his colleague, Sara Sidner, on book excerpts.
Surprisingly, Sidner actually asked Tapper a good question on the issue of why the White House press corps, who "followed" Biden daily, didn't share more details of what they "actually saw" at the time.
Tapper's answer was to claim they didn't because the Biden White House kept everything a secret:
SIDNER: You have an entire White House Press Corps though following him around. And I'm just curious as to whether or not this kind of trying to hide what was happening with the president at the time had an impact on the Press Corps. I'm, like, why didn't we hear some of these details from what they actually saw and were dealing with trying to get information?
TAPPER: Well, Alex Thompson and I were on the case, as were lots of other reporters, trying to figure out what was going on behind the scenes. But the bottom line is the White House was lying not only to the press, not only to the public, but they were lying to members of their own cabinet. They were lying to White House staffers. They were lying to Democratic members of Congress, to donors about how bad things had gotten.
Watch:
Tapper's whole "the press was kept in the dark on this" act was just too much for conservatives, including media critic Joe Concha, who had the following reaction:
Case in point, the contentious back-and-forth Tapper had with Lara Lea Trump about Biden's decline back in October of 2020 (just weeks before the presidential election) as another Democrat/media cover-up effort was underway, with that one revolving around the exclusive New York Post story on the Hunter Biden laptop:
It's beyond tiresome to hear prominent media figures say that journalists didn't report on the issue more because the White House was keeping people in the dark on it when one didn't need access to Joe Biden on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis to be able to see what was going on, with the only debate being the extent of how bad it was.
Yes, it's a scandal that the Biden White House tried to hide Biden's obvious issues from the press and the public, which prompted important questions about who was really running the show. But another big part of the scandal was the mainstream media's complicity in it because, as former "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd recently admitted, so many of them feared that calling it out and shining a brighter light on the issue would help Donald Trump.
They all knew. And the fact that they are trying to cash in on it after the fact while insulting our intelligence in the process is just 50 shades of disgusting.
