The story surrounding the New Jersey Democrats who tried to pull yet another stunt on behalf of suspected gang members and murderers just keeps getting worse with each passing day, and it's to the point where their lawyers may want to advise them to stop talking.
As RedState previously reported, the three House members - Robert Menendez Jr, Bonnie Watson Coleman, and LaMonica McIver - all showed out upon arrival at the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark Friday, where alleged criminal illegal immigrants are being held.
Per local reports, they, along with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka (D), were stopped at the first checkpoint after attempting to go beyond the gates, ostensibly for "oversight" purposes. Baraka took it even further, trying to get in through a side entrance. Then things got quite chippy and chaotic between the Congressmembers, Baraka, and the federal authorities before Baraka was eventually arrested.

Hilariously, these Democrat Congressmembers have been doing interviews on the talking head programs and claiming they did nothing wrong, even though videos shared by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other social media users tell quite a different story about their actions.
One of them even appears to show Rep. McIver hitting federal agents, though she would later go on TV and claim it was she and her colleagues who were "roughed up."
With DHS now reminding Democrats that no one is above the law and suggesting that they haven't ruled out arresting the New Jersey Democrats over Friday's attempted storming of the facility, one would think the newest members of the Congressional MS-13 Caucus would be a little more careful with their words.
Except that's not happening, with Rep. Watson Coleman opening her mouth and inserting her foot while doing an interview Monday on CNN (bolded emphasis added):
And we overhear them on the phones, ICE officials on the phones, and then we hear, we're arresting the mayor. To which we said, for what? He's not on the property. And they wouldn't respond to us. And they opened the gates and they sort of pursued the mayor with a number of officers who were masked and had guns. And so instinctively, the three members of Congress went to shield the mayor because we knew that what was happening was not legal.
[...]
If I'm arrested, it is an amazing absurdity because we did nothing illegal. We did nothing wrong.
Incredibly, after essentially admitting that she and her colleagues broke the law by allegedly attempting to obstruct an arrest, Watson Coleman then went on to claim it was the Trump administration that didn't care about the Rule of Law.
