WATCH: A Disaster of Another Kind Strikes When Biden Is Asked Why He Was at the Beach in Midst of Helene

If there's one thing President Joe Biden is competent at, it's that when disaster strikes the likelihood of him only making it worse is very strong.

As we reported earlier, the purported leader of the free world, fresh off another vacation at the beach, was asked two questions Sunday about the so-called federal response to Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of the southeastern United States including western North Carolina, which was hit particularly hard in what some have called their Hurricane Katrina moment.

Biden was first asked, "Do you have any words to the victims of the hurricane?"

His response? "We've given everything that we have."

"Are there any more resources the federal government could be giving them?" the reporter also inquired.

"No," Biden coldly replied at a time when he should have been emphatically stating they were standing by to assist in whatever way they could.

Well, it's Monday now and Biden is back at the White House from his Rehoboth Beach trip.

This morning, he gave a speech talking about the devastation from Helene and how the federal government would allegedly be there "as long as it takes to finish this job," which was an interesting statement to make considering it's not clear how much if any federal help has arrived at the impacted areas.

After the speech, where he also pledged to visit hard-hit areas when he wouldn't be so "disruptive" to the process, one determined reporter essentially asked Biden as he was walking out the door why he and Vice President Kamala Harris were not around this past weekend in the midst of the disaster.

Biden's answer was a disaster of another kind. Here's how the exchange went down:

Reporter: "On the hurricane, why weren't you and Vice President Harris here in Washington commanding this this weekend?"

Biden (sounding defensive): "I was commanding. I was on the phone for at least two hours yesterday, and the day before as well. I command, it's called a telephone, and all my security people."

Watch:

Imagine how that response may make someone who has just lost everything they have feel. I mean, in a nutshell, what he said was "While you were suffering and I was chillaxin' at the beach I was makin' some calls." Pathetic, and not what leadership looks like.

Meanwhile, Harris has yet to issue anything beyond a carefully staged photo of herself allegedly being "briefed by FEMA" after raking in millions at Left Coast campaign fundraisers. For those who missed the picture, it appears the headset to her phone is not even plugged into it, and the piece of paper she is writing on looks like it's blank.

They want us to believe "help is on the way," and weirdly, that photo and Biden's responses have given me optimism that help is, in fact, on the way and coming in November, when hopefully the veep will be handed her walking papers and America can at long last be made great again.
