If you're a political junkie, you scan through a lot of articles, video clips, social media posts, etc. on a daily basis to see what's cookin' out there, to find out what the hot topics of the day are and what the spin machines are churning out.
A lot of it usually turns out to be run-of-the-mill stuff, things that are important but that don't necessarily give you that caffeine jolt of excitement, that rush that makes you want to read and/or watch all the way to the end to get the full story.
But every once in a while, an inject-into-my-veins kind of story comes along that makes you want to stand and applaud, put your hand over your heart, and yell "Merica!" at the top of your lungs.

Such was the case for yours truly with the next clip, which comes courtesy of an interview done by CNN reporter Elle Reeve and which aired on Anderson Cooper's program Wednesday.
Reeve went to Florida to attend a MAGA flotilla/boat parade that was put on by the Bay County Republican Party and which took place at Panama City's Beach's Shell Island.
While there, she talked to many Trump fans, including a shirtless man in reflective sunglasses named Joe Harner, who said he lived in the 55+ community of Latitude Margaritaville.
Things with South quickly for Reeve, though, when she questioned him on why he was so concerned about the economy under Biden-Harris considering he seemed to be pretty well off.
His answers were perfect. Here's how their exchange went down (Language warning):
REEVE: What's your most important issue?
HARNER: The economy, getting the interest rates down, getting it where we can afford to live in America. Right now, it's too expensive.
REEVE: OK, now, let me maybe ask him like a slightly impolite question. But, you know, if you can afford a boat, you're not hurting so bad, right? Because a boat costs a lot of money and it is a lot of upkeep.
HARNER: Listen, nobody gave me sh*t. I earned everything that I've got. I'm retired military, retired power plant (ph), and I am successful and retired and with boats, jet skis because I did it right. And everybody has that chance. Whether they choose or not, that's up to them.
REEVE: I would never try to take anything away from you in that way. But what I'm asking is, groceries are probably a smaller part of your budget than say, you know, someone who is like a little worse off. I think it's interesting that people who are a little bit more comfortable are still so concerned about the economy. Do you see what I'm saying?
HARNER: Because I want my money to go further. I want inflation to go down. I want interest rates go back down. I want all that. But that covers everybody in the economy, not just me, not just the poor, not just the rich. It covers everybody.

I mean, the whole premise of her question was ridiculous in the first place. The gist of her line of questioning was that the man has done well for himself so why does he care about why things have gotten more expensive when he can still afford them? Are you kidding me?
I mean, our intellectual betters are constantly telling people who are financially secure that they need to show more concern for people who find it hard to make ends meet, and yet when someone does it's wrong because they have money? Plus, some people are in good shape financially precisely because they are budget-conscious and watch closely where their money goes. Good grief.
In any event, that, my dear readers, is how you handle a snotty journo. Bravo, Mr. Harner. Well done.
