CNN Analyst Has Disgusting 'But Tucker' Moment After Death of Fox News Cameraman

There are some genuinely awful people in this world, and it just so happens that a lot of them have cushy gigs at mainstream media news outlets.

Sadly, we were reminded of that all over again Tuesday when CNN global affairs analyst and “New Yorker” staff writer Susan Glasser decided to weigh in with her scorching hot take on the tragic death of Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski.

As we previously reported, Zakrzewski was with Fox News State Dept. correspondent Benjamin Hall in Ukraine Monday, where they were reporting on Russia’s invasion of the country when their vehicle “was struck by incoming fire,” according to a network memo. Hall was also injured during the attack, and at last check he was still in the hospital, with unconfirmed reports suggesting he was in “serious condition.”

While there has been genuine heartbreak expressed by Zakrzewski’s co-workers at Fox News as well as from reporters and photojournalists at other news outlets, Glasser decided to act stupidly in a “but Tucker” moment, taking a swipe at Zakrzewski’s employer and, of course, Tucker Carlson:

Five minutes later, and after already getting called out for her insensitively and lack of class, Glasser followed up by paying her respects, though still including a dig at Fox News regarding alleged “lies and propaganda,” as if anyone who works at CNN has any standing whatsoever to lecture anyone else on the topic considering the actual lies and propaganda they perpetuated for four years about the fake Russia collusion hoax:

Sadly, Washington Post columnist columnist Margaret Sullivan echoed the sentiment:

Unfortunately, tragedies sometimes bring out the absolute worst in people, as we saw in the aftermath of the July 2020 death of UNC-Wilmington Professor Mike Adams, a conservative in academia who was a frequent target of cancel culturalists, and who fought tooth and nail for years for his First Amendment rights before taking his own life. Some vile things were said about him once news of his death broke, with even some of his fellow faculty members at UNC-W wasting no time dunking all over a dead man.

Glasser’s reaction to Zakrzewski’s death was not much better, as she mocked it and insinuated he died in vain, which was pretty damned despicable in my book. For starters, she trotted out the tiresome smear that has become increasingly common in MSM circles that suggests conservatives like Carlson have “soft spots for Putin” because they’ve raised questions about the justification and level of U.S involvement in the Ukraine/Russia conflict. Further, she acted as though she knew the personal opinions of Zakrzewski on the matter of what he was filming in Ukraine as well as his colleagues back home in the U.S.

In reality, she knows neither and, quite frankly, it shouldn’t matter. Though Zakrzewski’s death is undeniably a tragedy, he died doing something he was dedicated to doing for years and it only serves to heighten the tragedy of it all for friends and family members when bad-faith actors like Glasser use it as a stepping stone to dunk on the competition and “own the cons.”

People really need to be better than this. Hopefully, Glasser – who is married to New York Times reporter Peter Paker – will get that memo once she sees the overwhelmingly negative reactions to what she said, but I doubt it.
