We’ve previously reported on how the media, the left and even some on the right have been working overtime to demonize people like popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson and former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), both of who have raised questions about the Ukraine/Russia issue and the level of (and if there even needs to be any) involvement from the United States in the aftermath of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of the country back in late February.
Opinions on this, of course, vary, and reasonable people can and should be able to disagree here in America, where the First Amendment is enshrined in our Constitution. Ideally, the language in the First Amendment would be the strongest deterrent to an “investigation” by the feds into someone for not taking an official government position on any issue, much less one involving foreign conflict and the possibility that one day in the near future our brave men and women in the military will be sent off to fight in it.
But if you watched the Monday segment of “The View” on this matter, one might not think the Constitution even existed after hearing the co-hosts bash Carlson and Gabbard, with both Whoopi Goldberg and fake “Republican” Ana Navarro both calling for President Biden’s Dept. of Justice to actually investigate both Carlson and Gabbard on “propaganda” grounds.
Navarro first started off by addressing the “concerns” expressed by other co-hosts including fruit-loop Sunny Hostin and their “conservative co-host” for the day and former Trump director of strategic comms Alyssa Farah Griffin by first saying that Fox News should step in and try to rein in Carlson’s broadcasts:
“The View” guest host @ananavarro calls on Fox News to intervene in Tucker Carlson parroting Russian propaganda:
“There’s a bunch of folks on that board of directors list … who I wish would be weighing in and saying, ‘We cannot be Russian state TV, at least not every hour.’” pic.twitter.com/DfOXFhpGZN

But then the segment took a more disturbing turn to a 2022 version of McCarthyism when both Navarro and Goldberg suggested DOJ intervention:
[Navarro] “I think the DOJ, in the same way that it is setting up a task force to investigate oligarchs, should look into people who are Russian propagandists and shilling for Putin. If you are a foreign asset to a dictator it should be investigated, and, in fact, I remember when Tulsi Gabbard, and I hate that we’re discussing it because I think to myself, who is this woman? She’s a, you know, she’s no longer in Congress. She’s a failed presidential candidate. She only practically exists on Twitter, and if that is correct we’re giving her oxygen is what makes her relevant, but we’re talking about her on hot topics, but on the other hand, how do you not call out something that is repeating false Russian propaganda and been brought down?”
“They used to arrest people for doing stuff like this,” said Whoopi Goldberg. “If they thought you were colluding with a Russian agent or putting out information or taking information and handing over to Russia, they used to investigate stuff like this, and I guess now, you know, there seems to be no bars, and people are not being told to hate Putin. Putin doesn’t need a reason to be hated.”

Ana Navarro, whose claims to fame are being an occasional “View” co-host and filing her nails on live TV as crimes committed by illegal aliens were being discussed, essentially calling Gabbard, a war veteran, a nobody was quite the thing to see, but I digress.
Now I want you to pause and think for five seconds what would happen if anyone on the right leveled similar accusations about “The View” co-hosts on any issue, and called for an investigation into their political opinions? Their heads would explode, and we’d see Linda Blair-esque heads spinning around on their necks they’d be so apoplectic with outrage.
But the fact that there’s little to no outrage from the usual corners to this dangerous call on a nationally-televised program for the government to step in and punish people for having a different opinion on the Ukraine/Russia issue is just one more example of how far we’ve fallen as a society. Even people who despise Carlson and Gabbard should be condemning what was said on “The View” (which, ironically, was a very Putin-like position to take) – because if it’s something that actually played out, it would set a terrible precedent. But you won’t see it, because Carlson and Gabbard are good “whipping boys and girls” to these same people who feed off the energy that clicks and likes and attaboys to their negative stories about them eventually bring.
Not that we should be surprised by any of this, considering how people who didn’t march lockstep with government edicts during the coronavirus pandemic and parents who were concerned about what teachers were teaching children in the classroom have been treated as enemies to this country, but this type of deranged mob mentality that has taken over any semblance of rational thought in certain quarters is worth noting nevertheless.
