As historical statues and monuments continue to get vandalized and pulled down by angry leftist rage mobs all across the country, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) has just four words for any “peaceful protester” considering doing damage to South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore:
“Not on my watch.”
Noem made the vow in response to a tweet from Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, who wondered when “our woke historical revisionist priesthood” was going to make Mount Rushmore their next target:

Conservatives on Twitter including RedState senior editor Brandon Morse rained praise down on Noem for showing the type of leadership against rage mobs that Democratic “leaders” in other states who have faced similar issues have failed to demonstrate:

Governor Noem is not only making the GOP and her home state look good, but the contrast to Dem-run states is stark.

Noem is one of several Republican leaders whose voices have gotten louder as the statues have continued to fall. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) took to the floor of the Senate on Monday and gave a speech for the ages on the dangers of mob rule and cancel culture, and called for the DOJ to prosecute those who have pulled down statues to “the fullest extent of the law” where federal law is applicable.
And earlier today, President Trump gave anarchistic left-wing mobs a warning that arrests and up to ten years in prison were coming for anyone caught “vandaliz[ing] or destroy[ing] any monument, statue or other such Federal property in the U.S.”
