Joe Biden can’t seem to make anybody happy these days.

CNN reports on what the former veep had to say about Vice President Pence during a speech at the University of Nebraska-Omaha – and the backlash to it:

Former Vice President Joe Biden responded to criticism Thursday after he called Vice President Mike Pence a “decent guy” during a speech in Omaha, a comment that frustrated some on the left because of Pence’s position on LGBTQ rights.

Biden’s comments about Pence came as he discussed foreign policy and how the international community had reacted to Pence during the vice president’s speech at the Munich Security Conference earlier in February.

“The fact of the matter is it was followed on by a guy who’s a decent guy, our vice president, who stood before this group of allies and leaders and said, ‘I’m here on behalf of President Trump,’ and there was dead silence. Dead silence,” Biden recounted Thursday at the Chuck Hagel Forum in Global Leadership at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

This did not sit well with “Sex in the City” actress and failed Democratic candidate for NY governor Cynthia Nixon, a lesbian, who angrily took to Twitter to criticize Biden:

Feeling sufficiently chastened, Biden walked back his comments in response:

And she tagged Biden’s wife on it. Wow. Talk about privilege and all?!

Guess who else Biden said this about? In a 2016 interview with Jimmy Fallon, Biden called candidate Trump “probably a decent guy.” Although it really wasn’t a compliment.

Anyway, Nixon probably isn’t aware that Biden and Pence have had a collegial relationship for a while now and talk once a month about various issues.

Or maybe her clap at Biden had a little something to do with the sting of him endorsing NY Gov. Cuomo over her in the Democratic gubernatorial primary last year.

In any event, if Barack Obama’s former second in command decides to throw his hat into the 2020 presidential arena – as it seems increasingly likely he’ll do – he’d better get with the program:

Democrats must not say nice things about any Trump administration Republican official. Ever. Even if they really mean it.
