On Thursday afternoon, America lost one of our courageous Blue Angels, Captain Jeff Kuss, in a tragic accident as the team practiced for an airshow in Smyrna, Tennessee.
The Blue Angels are an elite team whose mission is “to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstration and community outreach.”
At a short press conference on Friday afternoon, Blue Angels Flight Leader Commander Ryan Bernacchi described his fallen colleague as “an incredible husband, father, son, Marine and teammate who embodied and inspired in all of us an incredible spirit of compassion, courage and resiliency.”
Bernacchi added, “We lost an aviator that believed so deeply in the mission of inspiring others.”
Captain Kuss is survived by his wife and two small children.
