In case you're unfamiliar with her, Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-1) doesn't exactly do subtle. In keeping with that theme, the South Carolina lawmaker dropped a pretty straightforward assessment of Muslim lawmakers in America and watched the left completely lose their collective minds.
Mace, in a post on X late Friday, suggested that all public officials who are practicing Muslims are a clear and present danger to the Republic.
"Every single Muslim holding public office in America is a Trojan horse, and a threat to both national security and our republic," she wrote. "We refuse to be silent."
The outrage machine kicked into overdrive almost immediately.

Critics pounced. Some raced to their keyboards to denounce Mace's fiery remarks.
Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA-7) was one of the more vocal opponents of the comments, calling them “disgusting” and “dangerous.”
"This is absolutely disgusting and dangerous. Republicans must denounce this blatant Islamophobia," she responded. "To Muslim communities across America: I will always stand with you."
Mace didn't back down.
"She's right. I don't want to get stabbed or blown up by a suicide bomber - nor do I want to hear the call to prayer five times a day in the United States of America," she fired back. "Total Islamophobe here."

Then came the CNN appearance, where the network’s host tried to pin her down and lecture her on the First Amendment. Sparks flew as Mace refused to walk anything back and kept pressing her point about radical ideology.
As RedState's Teri Christoph described it, Mace simply expressed "justified concerns of many Americans over the consequences of expanding Muslim influence in the United States."
During the heated exchange, CNN anchor Omar Jimenez defended Hasan Piker, a close friend of the Democrats, and did his best to derail Mace by interrupting her eight times during a two-and-a-half minute segment.

Mace specifically called out New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) and Michigan Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, pointing to their political associations as reasons Americans should be worried about what she called “radical Islam ideology.”
“I am deeply concerned about Michigan Democrats nominating a guy hanging out with Hasan Piker, who said America deserved 9/11, who has a framed photo of the Twin Towers being ..." she said before being interrupted.
“If you’re playing footsie with an imam here in America who’s an unindicted co-conspirator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings, yeah, we have a real problem with that kind of ideology," she would say of Mamdani.
Mace went on to say she does not "want to hear the call to prayer five times a day in an American city,” something Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith (R) has voiced concern over.
Mace can occasionally be a little rough around the edges, for sure. Should people be more outraged over her blanket comments or, say, the public officials she is referring to?
Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-5) summarizing the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks as "some people did something" seems like a bigger problem. Likewise, with El-Sayed sharing common cause with a man who said, "America deserved 9/11."
Her colleague, Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI-12), defending terrorists while allegedly maintaining a disturbing pattern of ties to individuals and organizations linked to U.S.-designated terrorist groups, seems like a big Trojan-esque problem.
Or, Mamdani praising Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Democrats literally just boycott a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Federal Courts on the Muslim Brotherhood and its ongoing ties to terrorist groups around the world.
Would most people have worded things quite like Mace did? Perhaps not. But she's not the problem here. For once, a Republican politician said the quiet part out loud.
