On the Senate's schedule for Wednesday afternoon was a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Federal Courts on the Muslim Brotherhood and its ongoing ties to terrorist groups around the world, including Hamas. The hearing, chaired by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), was titled,“Hidden in Plain Sight: Confronting the Muslim Brotherhood Network."
Despite the meeting's serious national security nature, signs started pointing towards the five Democrat members pulling a stunt by skipping the subcommittee hearing. And accusing the GOP of trying to paint Muslims as terrorists.
Fox News' Bill Melugin had the scoop Wednesday morning, writing on his X account:
NEW: It appears that all five Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee on Federal Courts will boycott today's committee hearing on the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in US, arguing that they believe GOP will use it to scapegoat all Muslims. "Democrats have no intention of indulging this political creepshow," the Dems say in a joint statement.
(Watch the video below for more of the Dems' statement.)
He continued with a reminder on why Republicans and the Trump administration are keeping focused on the group:
The Muslim Brotherhood promotes governance based on Islamic principles and several of its branches have been labeled as a terrorist organization. Last year, the Treasury Department imposed sanctions on a senior leader of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood has had a presence in the US for decades.
Cruz later shared a video showing Melugin updating his reporting (including the minority's full statement), while the Texas senator gave his own take on the hearing's subject matter. Watch as the reporter practically has to chase down some of the Democrats. Remember that these are public servants, who are paid to represent their constituents in the upper chamber.
Watch:
The Muslim Brotherhood and its branches encourage, facilitate, and provide resources for conducting jihadist terrorism across the world.

They are committed to overthrowing the United States and the governments of our allies. I have been leading the fight in Congress to secure designations for my entire tenure in the Senate.
Unsurprisingly, Democrats are boycotting today’s hearing.
Now, we have learned that they have followed through on the threatened boycott, something Cruz chided them for in his opening statement, calling it "an embarrassment and a disservice" to the American people - especially since Americans have been victims of Hamas' terrorism:

NEW: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who called today's Senate hearing on Muslim Brotherhood networks in the U.S., just used his opening statement to blast the Senate Democrats who boycotted the hearing:
"You may notice that there are empty chairs on the Democrat side of the dais. The American people should ask themselves, why? Not a single member of the minority decided that a hearing on terrorism was worth their time. It is an embarrassment and a disservice to the thousands of American victims of the Muslim Brotherhood, including, most recently, the dozens of Americans who died on October 7th at the hand of Gaza's Muslim Brotherhood branch, Hamas."
And here is the list of the Dems who apparently had better things to do:

They could not be more tone-deaf to the priorities of most Americans. But since it's less than 24 hours since the Tuesday primaries, including the bellwether congressional contest in Michigan, it's not tough to decipher what their motive might be for the stunt.
As my colleague Sister Toldjah wrote on Tuesday evening, signs were pointing early in the night to radical leftist and Hasan Piker-associated candidate for U.S. Senate for Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed, winning the nomination:In the end, he was victorious.

The Dems are in a disaster of their own making. They have continued to coddle the fringe progressive horde and tie themselves into knots, while promising to anyone who will listen that they represent the common blue-collar working man and woman who simply wants affordable lives for themselves and their families.
Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) said on Wednesday what so many on the right are thinking about the Left's growing influence, including during the coming midterms:
Socialism, Communism, and Marxism are taking over the Democrat Party with a RADICAL agenda of no borders, no police, no prisons, and less freedoms.

House Republicans must - and will - defeat them! https://t.co/MDSj5I1icH
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
