The truth is still out there — but it’s a little closer now that President Trump is making good on his promise to release the UFO files.
As reported earlier this morning by RedState Deputy Managing Editor Susie Moore, today is UFO Friday. And man, it's already generating some serious buzz.
Alien enthusiasts and skeptics alike will spend the coming days absolutely glued to their screens. Trump's War Department just dropped the first batch of declassified UFO documents. Previous Apollo missions appear to have stolen the show in this initial reveal.

The release includes some wild Apollo 12 and 17 imagery showing three mysterious dots suspended in the lunar sky, along with astronaut transcripts describing bright objects drifting past the spacecraft “like the Fourth of July.”

A transcript of communications between Apollo 17 operators shows one informing the Command Center about "a few very bright particles or fragments or something" that happened to float by while they were trying to maneuver the craft.
"There's a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there - just bright. It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron's window," another operator reports.
The first one reiterates: "Yes. Now you can see some of them in shape. They're very jagged, angular fragments that are tumbling."
Not sure about y'all, but I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords.
The first batch of UFO files released by the U.S. government includes long-buried Apollo 17 footage showing astronauts describing bright, jagged objects tumbling past the spacecraft, footage NASA had buried and dismissed as “floating insulation.”

As Fox News Peter Doocy reports, the Apollo 17 exchange has previously been dismissed as floating insulation. But, the Pentagon has now captioned an image from the incident with the following:
While this photo has been previously released and discussed by keen observers, there is no consensus about the nature of the anomaly. New preliminary US government analysis suggests the image feature is potentially the result of a physical object in the scene.
Aside from the striking findings from the release of the Apollo missions, the 161 files released early Friday include:
- Videos and images of fast-moving, unexplained objects captured by U.S. pilots in restricted airspace, many still unidentified.

- State Department cables, additional NASA transcripts, and unresolved global UAP cases — all released with no official explanations.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth praised the UFO files release in a statement posted to X.
"The [Department of War] is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena," he said. "These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it’s time the American people see it for themselves."
"This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency."
The process is part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE), an interagency effort involving the Department of War, FBI, NASA, ODNI, and others. Additional files will be released on a rolling basis as they are discovered and declassified, with new tranches expected every few weeks.
Buckle up, kids.
