Panic at the DNC: Schumer, Jeffries Sue Over Trump's Mail-In Ballot Fraud Crackdown

The Democratic National Committee, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, along with their major campaign arms, filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday to block President Trump’s executive order cracking down on mail-in voting rules ahead of the midterms.

The order, as reported by RedState's Ward Clark earlier this week, requires federal agencies to verify U.S. citizenship using Social Security and DHS data, directs the Postal Service to send absentee ballots only to voters on approved state lists, and uses unique barcodes for tracking.

The swift and aggressive legal response reeks of panic from Democrats who have spent years defending the current system as an ironclad defense of democracy. It's a blatant attempt to stop the President from taking a straightforward step to stop potential fraud. Why would the resistance party be in such stark opposition to fighting fraud?

The groups named in the lawsuit contend that Trump is trying to "rewrite election rules for his own perceived partisan advantage."

Which, you know, pot, meet kettle.

"Our Constitution's Framers anticipated this kind of desire for absolute power. They recognized the menace it would pose to ordered liberty and the ways in which it would corrode self-government like an acid," the complaint reads. "That careful division of authority has held fast against President Trump's attacks."

Trump's executive order addresses a commonsense issue that a vast majority of Americans concur with: "The right to vote in Federal elections is reserved exclusively for citizens of the United States under the Constitution and Federal law."

"Unlike the Biden Administration, which pursued its political agenda instead of fair elections, President Trump is putting the American people back in charge," a White House fact sheet reads.

The measure would be wholly unnecessary if not for Senate Republicans' inability to pass the SAVE America Act. And the President has said he will take action one way or another before the midterms. America can't afford a stolen election.

"The Democrats refuse to vote for Voter I.D., or Citizenship. The reason is very simple — They want to continue to cheat in Elections," Trump wrote on social media. "This was not what our Founders desired."

He promised to develop a legal argument that he'll articulate to the American people shortly.

"There will be Voter I.D. for the Midterm Elections, whether approved by Congress or not!" he promised.

The President will need to have that solid legal argument in his back pocket going forward with his mail-in ballot move. There was little doubt that the Democrats would try to bog this executive order down in the courts, as they do with every attempt to secure the nation.

They didn't disappoint here.

The lawsuit’s overheated rhetoric about “absolute power” will play well in certain courtrooms and media newsrooms, but it rings hollow to anyone paying attention. It rings hollow to the average American who simply wants to be confident in their elections. To people who want to be assured their vote isn't being negated by fraudulent ballots.

Trump warned that if Democrats regain power, they will add two new states, expand the Supreme Court from nine to 21 justices, and eliminate the filibuster in their first week after regaining power.

"Our Country will never be the same if they allow these demented and evil people to knowingly, and happily, destroy it," he observed.

The president is simply demanding basic citizenship checks and verified mail-in ballot lists—measures that every American should support regardless of party. Only the Democrats take issue with election integrity.

With midterms looming, this frantic lawsuit isn’t about defending democracy or voter rights; it’s about preserving a system that has proven vulnerable to abuse. Who will the courts side with?

Editor's Note: The Democrats are doing everything in their power to undermine the integrity of our elections.
