Vice President JD Vance on Thursday masterfully swatted away a barrage of loaded questions from reporters desperate to paint a fatal Minneapolis shooting involving an ICE agent as cold-blooded murder.
In a fiery back-and-forth with reporters, Vance defended the ICE agent who fired his weapon at a protester who, rather than listen to law enforcement and get out of her vehicle, decided to back out and then punch the gas, nearly mowing him down in the process. He suggested this incident was a result of agitation by “leftwing radicals” and a consistent false narrative coming from Democrats and "corporate media."
"This was an attack on federal law enforcement. This was an attack on law and order,” Vance said. “This was an attack on the American people. That woman was there to interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation."
He urged the media to tell the truth, that "a group of leftwing radicals (who) have been working, tirelessly, sometimes using domestic terror techniques, to try and make it impossible for the president of the United States to do what the American people elected him to do, which is enforce our immigration laws.”
"How does being a part of that network justify being shot?" a reporter wondered, clearly missing Vance's broader point to make a false allegation.
"Being part of a network does not justify being shot," the VP explained. "But ramming an ICE officer with your car, that's what justifies being shot."

Vance had to slowly and in small words explain to the reporter that funding left-wing protests in and of itself does not justify capital punishment, but noted, "the reason this woman is dead is because she tried to run somebody over with her car."
Now, having heard what Vance just said—about "ramming an ICE officer" and how she "tried to run somebody over"—it is absolutely bewildering that a reporter just two minutes later asked Vance this question: "You still believe that she deliberately rammed him despite seeing this video?"
Despite seeing it? Bro, it's because we saw it.

"What I am certain of is that she violated the law," Vance punched back. "What I am certain of is that that officer had every reason to think he was under very serious threat for injury, or in fact his life. I'm certain she accelerated in a way where she ran into the guy."
None of that is in doubt from serious-minded folks. The multiple angles and the slow-motion footage make all of this abundantly clear.
Vance then truly took the media to task, lambasting them for labeling the ICE agent a murderer.

The Vice President said debating how or why the woman acted the way she did is reasonable. Leaping to her defense and trying to turn the ICE agent into another Derek Chauvin without trying to analyze the facts is not. And not being reasonable is a staple of today's media.

They know it. But as an arm of the DNC, they have to assume and report at all costs, even in the absence of facts that say otherwise, that law enforcement is the Gestapo, that they are Nazis, and that they are trying to murder innocent protesters. The media is trying to incite riots in that city, and they want more agitators to attack ICE agents. And if it means protestors idiotically giving their lives to do it, so be it. At least they'll have a story.
The media are the enemy of the people.
