President Donald Trump announced he will soon issue new guidance to protect the right to prayer in public schools during an appearance at the Religious Liberty Commission meeting on Monday.

The meeting is currently being held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.

"For most of our country's history, the bible was found in every classroom in the nation, yet in many schools today, students are instead indoctrinated with anti-religious propaganda," Trump said of a seemingly bygone era.

The President said some students are even strongly "punished for their religious beliefs."

"I'm pleased to announce this morning that the Department of Education will soon issue new guidance protecting the right to prayer in our public schools," he declared.

Attendees were overwhelmingly in favor of the move, erupting in a prolonged ovation.

While there are currently few details available regarding the Education Department's forthcoming guidance on prayer in public schools, whatever it may entail will undoubtedly be a significant blow to the separation of church and state hardliners.

The Supreme Court’s landmark 1971 ruling in Lemon v. Kurtzman established a legal test for gauging church-state separation under the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause.

However, the separation of church and state is something that was never intended to remove religion from schools, but is nonetheless cited in even the most mundane things that atheists find offensive.

Former Senator Rick Santorum once wrote, “The idea of strict or absolute separation of church and state is not and never was the American model.”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D, but running as an Independent) of all people has previously argued that removing prayer from our schools led to a rise in gun violence.

“When we took prayers out of schools, guns came into schools,” Adams said at the 2023 annual Interfaith Breakfast in Manhattan.

“Don’t tell me about no separation of church and state. State is the body. Church is the heart,” he insisted. “You take the heart out of the body, the body dies.”

President Trump established the Religious Liberty Commission under an Executive Order he signed this past May.

"The Founders envisioned a Nation in which religious voices and views are integral to a vibrant public square and human flourishing, and in which religious people and institutions are free to practice their faith without fear of discrimination or hostility from the Government," the order reads.

As such, the Commission is charged with advising the White House Faith Office and the Domestic Policy Council on religious liberty policies in America.

The White House on Monday also published a list of the President's "Top 100 Victories for People of Faith" in just his first eight months in office.

"Since the founding of our nation, nobody has fought harder or gained more for believers, reversing the catastrophic policies of the previous administration while building on the winning legacy of his first term," an email accompanying the list reads.

It declares Trump as "the most pro-faith and pro-religious liberty President in American history."

The schools, especially, have abandoned God, abandoned prayer, abandoned morals, and abandoned rules, as President Trump outlines, in an attempt to placate children and parents. It has been to their detriment and the detriment of their students.

It will be interesting to see what guidance the President provides to get them back on track.
