Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced plans to initiate studies on the potential link between SSRI drugs and violent behavior following a tragic shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis.
SSRIs, or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors, are a class of antidepressant medications that are used to treat depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
They are frequently used to treat common mental health challenges, especially in younger adults seeking to transition from their God-given gender who already suffer a higher rate of depression-related issues.
During a segment on Fox News this morning, Brian Kilmeade pointed out to Kennedy that Wednesday's shooting, which killed two children and injured 17 others praying in a church, was carried out by another "transgender" murderer.
The 23-year-old killer's spree comes two years after another trans-involved shooting spree in Nashville.
"Are you going to be examining at all some of the drugs that are used in order to make that transition happening, to see if it plays a role?" Kilmeade asked.
Kennedy's response is yet another example of a highly proactive HHS and administration as a whole under President Trump.
“We're launching studies on the potential contribution of some of the SSRI drugs and some of the other psychiatric drugs that might be contributing to violence," the Secretary announced. "You know, many of them on there have black box warnings that warn of suicidal ideation and homicidal ideation."

DIVE DEEPER: Democrat Responses to the Minnesota Trans Shooter Are the Most Evil and Depraved I've Ever Seen
Understanding How Democrats Lied About The Minneapolis School Shooting To Push Their Narrative
Kennedy's revelation will be welcome news to those who have insisted that transgenderism is a mental illness in and of itself, and who are wondering if highly volatile antidepressant drugs are complicating it. He does, after all, point out that they are looking for "potential" links.
Two things, though, must be made clear. While there is evidence that the Minneapolis shooter was transitioning, there is no proof yet if he was taking drugs, prescription or otherwise, or if they can definitively be linked to his maniacal behavior. Behavior evidenced in multiple social media videos.
Authorities have not released information as to whether the transition had progressed to physical or psychological alterations to his being. They may never release that information.
Minneapolis trans mass sh—ter of Christian children Robert “Robin” Westman came from a very liberal family in Minnesota who fully affirmed his transition.

There are, however, some studies that suggest a possible association between SSRI use and increased risks of violent behavior or convictions, particularly in adolescents and young adults.
A large Swedish cohort study of over 850,000 individuals prescribed SSRIs between 2006 and 2009 reported a modest increase in violent crime convictions among those aged 15-24 during treatment periods. At the same time, a 2020 study in the Netherlands and the U.S. linked SSRI use to higher reports of violent crimes, with one review noting a doubling of aggression and suicidality in healthy volunteers.
Some studies suggest no association and actual benefits in regulating mood.
The point here is that RFK and the President are willing to dive deeper into the pharmaceutical industry and the medical community that is currently drugging our kids with antidepressants at increasing rates. This would never have happened under a President Kamala Harris, especially if it might prove a link to violence amongst transitioning individuals already suffering from mental health issues.
