Well then, it seems like legendary rocker Steve Miller has decided to ... Take the Money and Run.
See what I did there?
Miller, frontman for the American rock band bearing his name in the late '60s, along with the rest of the group and their crew, have announced the cancellation of their entire 2025 North American tour.
Thirty-one scheduled events down the drain. Why? Was one of the band members suffering from a health issue? Technical difficulties? Scheduling conflicts of some kind?
Nay. You're not going to believe this, but the Steve Miller Band has dropped its major tour due to ... climate change.
Their "instincts," you see, are the motivating factor in deciding that, according to Variety, "climate change-induced weather disasters" are simply too much of a threat to their tour - and their fans.
“You make music with your instincts, you live life by your instincts, always trust your instincts," the band wrote in a statement posted to X. "The Steve Miller Band has cancelled all of our upcoming tour dates."
"The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, and massive forest fires makes these risks for you, our audience, the band, and the crew unacceptable."

Just like that (some might say, 'Abra-abracadabra'), a tour spanning mid-August to early November is gone without a trace.
"You can blame it on the weather… The tour is cancelled," the band adds.
Imagine completely fabricating an excuse to cancel your tour and then claiming it's a means to keep your fans safe from the big, bad weather? I'd imagine a vast majority of the fans would be willing to brave cool 60-degree nights with a slight crosswind.
Critics on social media were quick to speculate about ulterior motives for the cancellation.
"Depriving your audience is like turning your back on a friend," one fan wrote. "Most of your shows are indoors. Weather? Or was it ticket sales?"
"Wow...this is pathetic. Might rain, we need to cancel our tour," another chimed in.
One fan went the sarcasm route: "I'm surprised you have the courage to simply exist another day with so much weather happening."

Steve Miller, as the frontman of the Steve Miller Band, achieved fame in the late 1960s and 1970s with blues-rock and psychedelic hits like "The Joker" and "Fly Like an Eagle."
His influential career earned him induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
One of the group's biggest hits, the 1982 song Abracadabra, talks about the heat - "I heat up, I can't cool down."
Who knew that lyric would also define the end of the band's touring some 43 years later?
