President Trump on Wednesday heaped copious and well-deserved praise on Elon Musk following reports that he is winding down his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

During an Oval Office executive order signing session, a reporter asked Trump how long he'd like Musk to continue in that role.

Without hesitation, the President remarked that the Tesla CEO is a brilliant man who loves his country and has unfairly paid a price for that.

"Well, first of all, I can't speak more highly about any individual. He's an incredible guy. He's a brilliant guy," Trump declared. "He's a wonderful person. I've seen him with his family. I've seen him with a lot of his children."

"He's got a lot of children," he said, prompting smiles and laughter throughout the room. "He treats them good. He loves his children."

"But he's a brilliant guy," the President continued. "He was a tremendous help both in the campaign and in what he's done with DOGE."

Trump continued by pointing out that Musk has been treated unfairly by a certain segment of the public, which has knee-jerk reactions to false narratives put out by the media.

"They took it out on Tesla, and I just thought it was so unfair because he's trying to help the country, but he has helped the country," Trump said. "He didn't need to do this. He did it."

The comments belie countless media reports that there is tension between the President and Musk.

Musk told Tesla investors that he would spend less time working on DOGE projects and more time focusing on a company the President once called "Elon's baby."

“Starting probably in [the] next month, May, my time allocation to DOGE will drop significantly,” he said during an earnings call.

Tesla's earnings had just been released prior to the call. Total revenue decreased by 9% year-over-year to $19.34 billion, below analyst expectations of $21.43 billion.

The company's stock jumped significantly upon hearing that Elon would focus more on Tesla.

Musk's announcement is of little surprise, though the left is likely celebrating as if they've dispatched of their favorite bogeyman. His special government status is set to end on May 30th.

Democrat politicians have done their best to destroy his American company, ranging from celebrating Tesla's stock woes to offering dog-whistle support of violence against dealerships, and even trying to run them out of certain blue states.

Musk is the founder of SpaceX, a company seeking to enable the colonization of Mars, the developer of Neuralink, a brain-computer interface, the wealthiest man on the planet, and, of course, the CEO of Tesla.

With his vast accomplishments, there's little doubt that the company will soar to even greater heights once he starts diving back into Tesla headfirst. Much to the dismay of those who want nothing more than to see him fail.

Elon Musk and DOGE are bringing much-needed accountability to our out-of-control bureaucracy as they take a chainsaw to rampant waste, fraud, and abuse.
