Delegate for the Virgin Islands Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) suggested to CNN mainstay Wolf Blitzer that violent illegal aliens being deported by the Trump administration should be afforded the same rights as American citizens.

Blitzer prompted Plaskett for comment regarding César Humberto López-Larios, an alleged top leader of the MS-13 gang who was part of the deportation flights of alleged terrorists currently creating a political firestorm.

He wondered if the congresswoman was concerned about charges being dropped against López-Larios as he was returned to El Salvador, where reports suggest he could implicate top government officials in possibly corrupt deals with the violent gang.

Plaskett replied, "I’m concerned about how they are conducting their immigration deportation policies. Seizing of American citizens without due process."

Rep. Andy Biggs: No Exceptions to Mass Deportations

There is no evidence that American citizens are being 'seized' during the deportation process. The Virgin Islands delegate then engaged in some impressive verbal gymnastics to redefine an illegal immigrant.

"While we know that many of these people may not be American citizens, they are immigrants - whether they are here illegally or through the process - there is a - we rely on our rule of law to ensure that every individual is afforded whatever the law has given them the rights to," she said.

The Trump administration has long maintained that their first targets under the deportation process are those who already have deportation orders. If that is the case, they've gone through the courts, and judges have ordered their removal. They've had their due process.

Border Czar Tom Homan scoffed at Democrats defending these criminal illegal aliens based on due process.

“Due process? What was Laken Riley’s due process?” Homan said in a recent interview with ABC News. “What were all these young women that were killed and raped by members of [Tren de Aragua]? What was their due process? How about the young lady that was burned alive on the subway? Where was her due process?”

The Fifth Amendment guarantees that "no person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law," and the Supreme Court has interpreted "person" to include illegal immigrants.

Plaskett made headlines in January when she went on a wild rant during the vote for Speaker of the House, lecturing the body despite knowing full well she had no vote in the process.

The best part of that video is Plaskett proudly shouting, "But I have a voice," and then promptly having her mic cut off.

The delegate also raised eyebrows when she referred to President Trump as the Republicans’ “would-be Führer" and bizarrely worried that Elon Musk and Jim Jordan (R-OH) would call her derogatory names.
