We reported on Monday about the gross insinuation from Sen. John Ossoff (D-GA).
He was attacking President Donald Trump at a campaign rally as he runs for reelection. He was tossing out all kinds of nasty nonsense, including that Trump didn't want to work when he's a very active and involved president. But this crack was beyond the pale. "He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar," Ossoff said.
It's one thing to be wrong in attacking the president. It's another to also drag in a female aide who doesn't deserve such an attack. Ossoff was immediately slammed for what many viewed as a vile and misogynistic comment. Trump dismissed Ossoff when asked about it, terming him "Pee Wee Herman."

Ossoff may have realized that his comment was backfiring big time on him because when he went on Jen Psaki's show on MS NOW, he tried to reframe it as a concern about all the aides and Harp being a "security blanket."
Psaki: The reason I asked about Natalie Harp is because it’s kind of raised this question out there. More questions about her. He is surrounded by sycophants, no question. I just talked about that. But you specifically mentioned her, and I just wonder why.

Ossoff: Well, I’ve… pic.twitter.com/JMGS2kdak2
Well, I’ve heard this particular aide referred to as his security blanket. And I think we could say that about any number of the senior aides in the White House. They’re not telling him what he needs to hear. They’re telling him what he wants to hear. And the nation is at war, and we cannot afford that. We need a team in the White House—we need folks at the State Department, at the Defense Department, in the United States Congress who take their jobs seriously.
No, sorry, you can't back out of it like that. You weren't talking about all the aides, and you weren't talking about them being security blankets. He called out one person and doesn't dare to stand by being the nasty person he is. Then he tried to change the subject to the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln. He's trying to gaslight us now, which only makes things worse. He should apologize to Natalie Harp if he has any character.
Ossoff got called out, including by CNN commentator and Salem Media host Scott Jennings and Fox columnist David Marcus.
What a coward. Own your sexist joke, bro. https://t.co/YyYPLPA11T

Cowardly. He made the joke, he has to own it. This is not a serious person. https://t.co/uCSCEF9cv5

Ossoff reiterated to Psaki he wasn't planning on running in 2028, despite people wanting to toss him into that barrel.
Sorry, I don't think I believe him on that either. He would have to say that now, as he is running for reelection to the Senate.
But if he thinks he's setting himself up well for a run with this kind of move, he's deluding himself. He's just shown how slimy he can be, and it's not an appealing look.
