World Cup Freddy Makes It to Nashville and Has the Perfect Patriotic Moment

When last we left Freddy, the World Cup tourist from Germany, he was in Tennessee, and he'd just had some great firearm fun with a local family.

He was incredibly impressed with the guns and the fact that his new friends could just fire them off in their backyard (which was pretty huge). But it left Freddy cheering, "Freedom!"

Even the White House hat-tipped the fun.

Freddy raved about the Southern hospitality, explaining that while he was out on a lake with the gun friends, he was then invited to another house where they had drinks and chicken wings. "It's the kind of hospitality I've never experienced before." Everyone knows everyone else, and doors are always open, he said. One of his new friends hadn't locked his door in 23 years.

When we got back to the dock late that night, one of the guys on the boat said something that really stuck with me:

“You don’t have to live in some big, exciting city. What matters is the people who live there. That’s what makes you happy. I’ve lived in many places around the world, but nothing comes close to Ocoee, Tennessee. And you know the best part about living here? We’re going to do the exact same thing again tomorrow.”

People were warning Freddy and the crew off of Taco Bell, which has been one of his favorites, because they were concerned about the diarrhea parasite that's going around. So he hit up Publix for their subs. They also had to rest up a little because one of the crew was sick.

They made it to Nashville.

Freddy teased about where they were going next, as he showed off the boots that country singer Ella Langley gave him.

Then they made it to the Grand Ole Opry, and the "ultimate country music experience."

Then he had a truly "cool moment" with "Proud to Be an American," as everyone stood at the "stand up" part. "God bless the USA!" Freddy cheered.

Lovely moment!  Thanks, Freddy!
