When last we left Freddy the German World Cup tourist, he had made it to Pennsylvania, on his way to Boston, and another Germany game on Monday.
He'd even managed to visit Amish country in Ohio, and thought that was pretty special.
Even Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy recognized Freddy's trip, and some of the things he's seen so far, set to the music of Ella Langley, the country singer Freddy has come to appreciate during his road trip.
We love watching Freddy’s journey on his road trip across the U.S.

There is no better way to learn about America’s story than from the open road, in our towns, and with the people! 🇺🇸

On Wednesday, Freddy made it to New York and the Finger Lakes region. He had a truly stunning view of Watkins Glen State Park.
After a long day of driving we’ve finally had the time to explore a bit and it was WORTH it. This is somewhere in the Watkins Glen State Park in New York.

For a moment I felt like I was deep in the jungle searching for an ancient lost city. pic.twitter.com/EeVqQJWY9x
He ended the day with the serenity of Seneca Lake.
Ending the day at Seneca Lake. It’s so calm and peaceful here, a welcome change after all these eventful days of the past weeks. pic.twitter.com/9v4GfesFhJ

Freddy and his buddy spent most of the day driving because they had to make it to Montreal to return the car they had rented in Toronto. They were then going to pick up another rental car that they had reserved in Vermont. He joked about their "healthy" lunch in the process.

However, when Freddy got to Vermont, he discovered that a "reservation" doesn't apparently mean much.
It’s complete chaos today. We drove to Burlington, VT to pick up a rental car but even though we had reserved one they had no cars available (until Sunday). My travel buddy now continues driving to Montreal to drop off our Canadian rental car and I’m staying here to try get a car… pic.twitter.com/8XKzFslNAT

Freddy ended up having to stay in a motel in Burlington. He did get to watch the U.S. vs. Turkey game on TV.
Even though I’m stuck in Burlington for now, life could definitely be worse. Got some Mexican food delivered to my room and watching USA vs. Turkey.😋 pic.twitter.com/mFThfzhKpv

Then, Hertz came through on Friday morning. Robert, the rental car manager, not only picked him up at the hotel, but he also gave him a soccer ball.
Also huge shoutout to Robert, who’s the manager at the rental station in Burlington. He picked me up from the hotel (it was raining heavily) and even gifted me a football he had at home.🙏Trying to figure out which World Cup it’s from. My guess would be either 2010 or 2014. pic.twitter.com/L0lUHW92Zd

He's looking for moose. At this point, however, I think Freddy may be overdosing on fast food.
The drive up to Montreal and back to Vermont took up the whole day. Now we’re back and heading to the moose region in Vermont.🫎

Also, today is our 3-week anniversary since arriving in the US, and we’ve eaten fast food every single day. That has to be some kind of record. pic.twitter.com/UXltdLvZBU
He marveled at how far they had come on their adventure through the U.S.
Currently driving through Vermont. It’s hard to believe that this and Texas, where we were last week, are the same country. It’s like a different world here. pic.twitter.com/BG0hIbjSN0

But while he hasn't found a moose yet, he found something else that he was interested in after all his time here.
Can me, Freddy, and Shaun get one?
— Elsa (@elsathora) June 26, 2026
Elsa, a Swedish tourist, asked if she, Freddy, and Shaun (the Scottish tourist) could get one. I think they all would like to be Americans on some level now.
Freddy posted a big agreement with a GIF pleading for one, which was pretty sweet.
It's great to see how much they appreciate what we have here.
