Freddy, the World Cup tourist from Germany, is giving us a grand tour of our country just in time for our 250th birthday.
When last we left them in the saga, Freddy was in Michigan. He'd just had a great visit to Niagara Falls, saw the fireworks, with a patriotic light show of red, white, and blue over the falls. On top of that, he got a great invitation to have a special "treat" from Chef Gordon Ramsey when they reach Boston, their ultimate destination for the Germany game on Monday.
However, rather than driving straight from Niagara Falls to Boston, he decided to go west and loop around so he could see Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

World Cup Freddy Encounters a Big Problem, but America Comes Through Again
In the process, he's eating like an American. He grabbed a corn dog and other stuff at Walmart. I don't vouch for what his stomach must have been like after eating this.

He thought the fraternity houses at the University of Michigan looked "straight out of the movies."
Walked around the fraternity streets at the University of Michigan. This looks just like something straight out of the movies. pic.twitter.com/heLhCZhyU4

Freddy said they were trying to avoid the interstate highways and drive through the small towns. He loved this town when he hit it in Ohio, calling it "peak America," with the American flags out, and what looked like a barber pole out front.
Driving through Ohio. Towns like this are why we’re trying to avoid the interstates and take the slower roads instead. These are the kinds of places we want to see. This feels like peak America.🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/euWbDVIRge

Then he confessed to eating too much Taco Bell on the trip.
The amount of times we’ve eaten at Taco Bell during this trip already is probably not good… pic.twitter.com/zl77Lmbo57

Freddy is going to have to go on a diet after he leaves.
But then he made it to Amish country in Ohio, and was very excited to see the Amish.
We just saw our first Amish people!!!! They were coming toward us in a horse-drawn buggy. Such a cool moment. I don’t want to record them without their permission, so you’ll have to trust me on this one. pic.twitter.com/vGI9ZmEP6G

He loved Berlin, Ohio.
Overnight in Berlin, Ohio and wow it’s beautiful here. The sunset might be playing a huge part in it, but this is one of my favorite places of the whole trip so far. pic.twitter.com/pUHBdQkuzT

While he was hesitant about taking pictures of the Amish because he didn't want to offend anyone, he did get some of the buildings and a buggy.
Super interesting morning in Amish Country, Ohio. The supermarket even has dedicated parking spaces for buggies, and there’s a lot of German around here. Also, so many people here ride bicycles, something I’ve hardly seen anywhere else so far. Now we’re off to Pennsylvania! pic.twitter.com/F6j1LzxhAE

They made it to Pennsylvania.
THE WORLD CUP TRIP HAS MADE IT TO PENNSYLVANIA!!!

I’ve just counted, and this is already the 13th state of the trip. pic.twitter.com/aV9NBWAfLm
As of the moment, he's now made it to 13 different states and is giving us a great view in the process: Georgia, Florida, North Carolina (which they drove through for 20 minutes), Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, New York, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
