Jeffries' New Statement About Courts Shows Just How Off the Rails Dems Are

Democrats are crying some big tears this week, after the holding of the Virginia Supreme Court in their redistricting case.

That's effectively stopped the Democrats' effort to implement a new map that could've potentially added four more seats for them in Congress. And they're not happy about that at all, and they're allegedly considering all kinds of crazy things.

Indeed, as my colleague Sister Toldjah reported earlier, there's even a report that shows how far they might be willing to go.

Perhaps the most extreme of the measures that, per The New York Times, were being considered during a meeting Saturday that included House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), was to have "Democrats in Richmond lower the mandatory retirement age for state Supreme Court justices... from 75 to 54," a plan that, if seen through, would force out every justice currently sitting on the state Supreme Court. Afterwards, they conceivably would use their power to "then fill vacancies on the court with sympathetic Democratic lawyers."

As my colleague explained, that isn't going to work.

But just think about that a moment. If this report is true, the folks who have been screaming their heads off, claiming President Donald Trump is an authoritarian and calling for "No Kings," want to take over a court and boot judges, because they didn't agree with the court's decision. How is that respecting constitutional order?

In case it's not clear how off the rails they are, they aren't just talking about things like that or packing the Supreme Court if they get back into power; they're talking about going after all the courts.

"We are going to have to explore judicial 'reform' state by state and at the federal level...everything should be on the table as far as I'm concerned," Jeffries ranted.

What does that even mean? "Reform" them until they agree with us? And "everything" is on the table? Our whole republic is built on the independent rule of law that is not supposed to be dictated to by political parties.

This kind of thing should give everyone pause. They are, in fact, the authoritarians they claimed Republicans are. Imagine if Trump had said something like this, they'd be all over him in 16 seconds, calling for his impeachment. So much for "democracy." This is about power.

Republicans, independents, and anyone else properly disturbed by this all have to work to vote against such people.
