Border Czar Tom Homan hit the Sunday shows to call for the Democrats to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) so that it could do its job and protect the American people.
Not only are Democrats refusing to fully fund the agency, but they're also inciting people against ICE by demonizing it as well. That's endangering ICE and endangering the American people when the DHS isn't allowed to fully do its job.

Homan appeared on CNN with Jake Tapper. Tapper acted as though they were somehow doing something different from what had been done before the second Trump term. Homan disabused him of that notion, explaining that apart from the masks to protect the agents because of the threats, the "laws were exactly the same" as they had been under prior presidents. But the Democrats weren't attacking ICE and inciting chaos before.

The same people who want ICE to take off the masks are the same ones claiming ICE is going to shoot people inside airports, Homan explained. "If you want ICE to take the masks off, the threat level has to decrease," he said. He put the blame right where it belonged - on Democrats. Homan called for them to stop calling them Nazis and racists, and saying they're going to shoot people in airports.
Homan explained that the only difference was that under Joe Biden, they weren't enforcing the law, and now they are, that they are enforcing the law Congress enacted. "If they don't like what ICE is doing, change the law," he said.
Homan said what it came down to is that the Democrats were trying to prevent ICE from doing their job, that they wanted to "change operations so we arrest less people."

He said they're all in to buy body cameras, but they can't unless they're funded. As far as the issue of "sensitive locations" - arresting people in churches, hospitals - Homan says that hasn't happened, but they already adhere to that unless there's a national security issue. "They're holding the Department hostage, because they don't like what ICE is doing," he declared.
Homan also set Face the Nation's Margaret Brennan straight when she tried to claim the Republicans controlled the government. Republicans in the Senate only have 53 people, and they needed 60 to get to a vote on the issue.

Now that's pretty shameful that she tries to push that narrative at this point when she has to know better.
But Homan schooled her that it was the Democrats who were the ones blocking funding for all the DHS, "because they want to change ICE policies so that ICE is less effective in the interior." That's the bottom line.
