The U.S. and Israel have been clobbering Iran's military, and Iran is showing its desperation in return.
Israel just reportedly eliminated the IRGC naval chief Alireza Tangsiri, the guy who was in charge of their blockage and control of the Strait of Hormuz. They may also have taken out some of his top aides, according to the report. That's certainly going to be problematic for Iran as moves from the U.S. appear to be incoming regarding the Strait. Israel was able to take him down with the assistance of U.S. intelligence.

You might not know how successful the military battle has been against Iran if you were just reading the liberal media, which has been a constant drumbeat of negativity. But the complete freedom to take out leader after leader, air superiority, and taking out most of their naval capacity, even apart from Tangsiri, is a good indication.
Not only are we taking out the military and the weapons of war, but we're also attacking their ability to build more.
CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper laid out how Tangsiri had been in charge for eight years as their navy harassed maritime shipping and killed countless civilians. He was declared a Specially Designated Terrorist in 2019.

Cooper also said 92 percent of the Iranian navy's large ships had been destroyed and were now in "irreversible decline." He called on anyone still serving in the Iranian navy to abandon their post and "return home to avoid further risk of injury or death."
On top of that, some of their Gulf neighbors have had enough of their nonsense and are doubling down on their desire to help the United States in the effort, as a UAE minister explained to Bret Baier on Wednesday.

That's left Iran without a lot of options, besides threats around the Strait of Hormuz, attacking their Gulf neighbors, and posturing on social media.
But they just made a move that shows how desperate they are.
An official from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said the minimum age for participation in war-related support roles has been lowered to 12, according to remarks aired on state media.
Rahim Nadali, a cultural official with the Guards in Tehran, said an initiative called “For Iran” was recruiting participants to assist with activities such as patrols, checkpoints and logistics.
“Given that the age of those coming forward has dropped and they are asking to take part, we lowered the minimum age to 12,” he said, adding that 12- and 13-year-olds could now take part if they wished.
They indicated that it might involve Basij checkpoints. That's one of the ways the Iranian people have been suppressed.

They're doing this despite their commitments under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which prohibits the use of children in military activities. They're trying to skirt around this because the Basij is a "voluntary" organization. They may also need help there because Israel has been taking out the Basij on tips from the Iranian people. This may also be an indication that they are running out of Basij willing to continue to suppress the people.
If you're winning, you don't have to try to suck in children as young as 12. And it's particularly gross to suggest that they are acceding to kids wanting to "take part." Sounds like the last stand of the Nazis when they were using young kids to throw up for the final defense of Berlin. That's a truly evil move, which shows how little they care about their children.
It's despicable to put kids in that position. And if they are then hurt or killed in the process, Iran would then likely yell about the horrible U.S. "killing children," despite Iran being responsible for placing them in those positions in the first place.
