We reported on the actions of Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who heroically jumped Sajid Akram, one of the men accused in the Bondi Beach terrorist attack in Australia, and took his gun away from him. Ahmed was then shot multiple times, but is recovering.

But Ahmed wasn't the only hero.

More has now emerged about the great bravery that people showed. One of the most amazing acts of bravery came at the very start of the incident. Boris Gurman and his wife, Sofia, were an elderly couple in their 60s who had been married for 35 years. They were on the beach to celebrate Hanukkah. They were walking past where Akram had parked his car. On the front of the car was an ISIS flag.

Imagine the couple's quick thinking and courage to, within seconds, decide to take on Akram as he got out of his car with his gun. A dashcam camera from a car going by caught the action of Boris, struggling with Akram and managing to grab the weapon from him, as Sofia came to help.

Unfortunately, Akram had another gun and killed Boris and Sofia, who died in each other's arms.

They are believed to be the first people shot in the attack.

“While nothing can lessen the pain of losing Boris and Sofia, we feel an overwhelming sense of pride in their bravery and selflessness,” their family announced afterward: “This encapsulates who Boris and Sofia were — people who instinctively and selflessly tried to help others.”

Then there was Reuven Morrison. You may recall that if you saw the video where Ahmed tackled the older terrorist and grabbed his gun, there was a man who threw something at him as Sajid Akram retreated toward his son, the other terrorist, at the bridge. That was Morrison. Before he did that, he also, according to reports, was the guy who stood up and pointed right at Akram to let people know where he was.

Morrison then went to join Ahmed behind a tree.

Morrison's daughter said, "I believe after Ahmed managed to get the gun off the terrorist, my father had then gone to try and unjam the gun, to try and attempt shooting. He was screaming at the terrorist,"

But then Morrison was shot and killed, and Ahmed was wounded.

You can see in that last video, a police officer hiding behind a car. There has been criticism about their response to the attack. Two police officers were injured in the terror attack.

But folks like the Gurmans and Reuven Morrison certainly did all they could, and may they be remembered for their great heroism.
