Slotkin Steps in It Even More in Response to FBI Interview on 'Illegal Orders' Video

As we reported, the FBI was trying to schedule interviews with the six Democratic lawmakers who were involved in the disturbing "illegal orders" video.

Now the lawmakers are confirming that they have been contacted.

“President Trump is using the FBI as a tool to intimidate and harass Members of Congress,” a group of four Democratic House members said in a statement Tuesday. “Yesterday, the FBI contacted the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms requesting interviews.”

Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) also posted on X about being contacted.

Last night, the FBI's Counterterrorism Division appeared to open an inquiry into me in response to a video President Trump did not like.

The President directing the FBI to target us is exactly why we made this video in the first place. He believes in weaponizing the federal government against his perceived enemies and does not believe laws apply to him or his Cabinet. He uses legal harassment as an intimidation tactic to scare people out of speaking up.

This isn’t just about a video. This is not the America I know, and I’m not going to let this next step from the FBI stop me from speaking up for my country and our Constitution.

This isn't about Trump targeting anyone, and this isn't about Trump not liking the video. You are not the victim.

Don't put out videos inciting the military if you don't want a reaction.  And by the way, I thought the video was like a PSA to the military to tell them they didn't have to follow illegal orders. You mean it was aimed at Trump over "weaponizing the federal government?" And speaking of weaponizing government, has Slotkin missed the last several years with all the targeting of President Donald Trump by Democrats?

Slotkin got roundly roasted in the comments, with people on X telling her her defense wasn't going to fly.

Democrats don't know when to stop talking. We saw Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), who had the same problem. He wasn't part of the video, although he apparently had been invited to be a part of it, and endorsed it. He revealed he had been sent a "script" for it. So the FBI needs to be asking who was behind it, and who wrote the script.

Keep on talking, Democrats, and stepping into it, more and more. I'm sure the FBI will be asking Slotkin what she was talking about there.
