How Could Anyone Vote for This? Vile Mamdani Video From 2023 About NYPD Re-Emerges

I don't know how anyone in New York City could possibly vote for democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani for mayor.

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has been cutting into his lead.

But New York City needs everybody and then some to get out to vote against Mamdani.

Now, another video has emerged with remarks from Mamdani, and it is a truly vile attack on the NYPD. And this is not very "old." According to the NY Post, it's from the 2023 Democratic Socialists of America national convention, where he was the keynote speaker.

This was from a panel discussion at the convention, “Socialist Internationalism: The Solution to the Crisis of Capitalism.”

Mamdani spoke about the "importance of international solidarity" that "takes him out of the American political landscape" and reminds him how "tame" some of his proposals are. It reminds him of the "necessities of grounding ourselves in the struggles." He said for people to care about the international issues, they had to make them "hyperlocal."

"We have to make clear that when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it's been laced by the IDF," he declared.

“We are in a country where those connections abound. Especially in New York City, you have so many opportunities to make clear the ways in which that struggle over there is tied to capitalist interests over here,” he said.

Mamdani has been trying to distance himself from prior statements against the NYPD so he can win. But this is just two years ago, and shows where he truly is at. If someone didn't already understand it, his language is a window into his radicalism. Not only is he demonizing the NYPD, but he's saying it's because of the IDF and Israel.

Mamdani's DSA remarks were not going over well.

So let's see: radical positions, no real executive experience, and questionable stories like the one about his "aunt" and her experience after 9/11. For many New Yorkers, that takeaway from such a traumatic attack on our country and the city was, to say it mildly, not good.

Tell me why anyone would vote for this guy? Because he will smile nicely before his policies wreck the city? Because he's promising free stuff - that New Yorkers will end up having to pay dearly for?

It's bizarre, but it's also concerning how far left the city has become. Of course, it's not just the city - it's all the Democrats who have endorsed this guy too, putting their imprimatur on his radical positions.

They now all own what he has said.
