It was former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's turn to be grilled by the House Oversight Committee on Friday regarding Joe Biden's cognitive issues and the autopen scandal.
Like other former Biden officials, KJP refused to answer when she was peppered with questions from reporters on the way in and out of her interview. Some of the questions were pretty good, including the one asking about the pardons and the autopen, as well as if KJP was "going to bring it [the autopen scandal] up" in the book she is writing.

Then, after her grilling, she looked like she was walking as fast as she could to get the heck out of there.

Turns out that she did say something interesting in the testimony. (emphasis added)
Over nearly six hours of testimony, Jean-Pierre claimed — incredibly — that “she did not see a change in Biden’s competency from 2009 to 2025,” according to a source familiar with the interview by the House Oversight Committee.
While the ex-White House spokesperson acknowledged Biden, now 82, was “not the same speaker he was when she met him,” Jean-Pierre couldn’t attribute a reason for the “speaking change,” the source added.
Pray tell, Karine, what's the reason for the "speaking change"? That answer is so bad, it reminds one of the answers she used to give in White House briefings.
She did say that she was given special direction about how to respond to questions about Biden's condition, according to the source familiar with the interview. Someone, KJP doesn't know who, put the direction about using the "cheap fakes" defense in her binder when asked about videos showing Biden's problems.
Imagine that for a second - this was her job, and she doesn't know who specifically did it? She's just reading whatever is in the briefing book, a la Ron Burgundy, and the way her former boss would just read off the stage direction in his speeches.
In addition, Jean-Pierre acknowledged that talking points were given to her by “various advisers, but those relating to President Biden’s health and mental acuity were handled exclusively at the senior level,” the source went on.
A former Biden White House colleague confirmed to The Post that key aides, such as senior advisers Anita Dunn and Mike Donilon, would coordinate talking points about Biden’s health...
Translation: there was "something" to handle, that they all knew needed kid gloves from the "Politburo."
Some on the Biden team were not at all happy with her. Let's recall that they're likely worried about what she may be writing in her book. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer said that he believed she's written things that may be helpful to his investigation. Biden aides who spoke to the NY Post, in the report linked above, were dissing her right and left.
One former aide said her response was “not a good look for the most public-facing person from the last administration, especially when she’s hawking a book.”
Ouch.
Then another mocked her response.
A second former Biden White House aide ridiculed Jean-Pierre’s testimony, telling The Post: “I would like to ask her if she has a mind of her own — she just did what was on the paper? No critical thinking.”
So now they're willing to call out her shortcomings, but they weren't when she was in the White House, just like they weren't willing to call out Biden's issues when he was there. They don't understand how incompetent and petty that makes them all look.

KJP Dishes About Biden and Dems Turning on Him
None of these people, including Jean-Pierre, deserved to be in these positions of trust.
