President Donald Trump put a plan he had into place for a long time on Wednesday: flagpoles on the North and South Lawn of the White House. They're going to cost about $100,000 total, he said. He's paying for it as a gift to the country.
Trump said he's always wondered why the White House didn't have "a flagpole from the grass."

Trump came out to greet the workers.
One of the workers thanked him for "bringing America back again."

Trump spoke about the project and joked about how they were going to have a "lifting" or another word starting with an "E." He joked that photographer Doug Mills would win another prize for pictures of the event.
TRUMP: “Let's have a good — they call it a lifting. They also use another word but I'm not gonna use that word. It starts with an “E”. Do you know what the word is? If I ever used it I would be run out of town. Alright. So enjoy it.”🤣 pic.twitter.com/o6lTVoQNaw

He took some shots at the Chair of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell for not lowering rates.
Trump on his relationship with Jerome Powell…

Absolute comedy:
“He just refuses to lower rates. I don’t even think he’s political, I think he hates me. He probably should, I call him every name in the book to try and get him to cut.”pic.twitter.com/H6aMKmRB0O
He also spoke on the pressing issue of Iran.
A reporter asked if he thought he was moving closer to striking Iran. Trump mocked the reporter for the thought that he would tip them about a strike.

"You don't seriously think I'm going to answer that question?" he responded, mocking her as though he would give the reporters the time of a strike. He said that Iran was in trouble. But when asked if negotiations were too late, Trump said, "Nothing is too late."
While he said that, he also had a big message for Iran when asked what he had to say to the "Supreme Leader of Iran who says that they will not surrender?"

"I say, 'Good luck,'" he replied. That doesn't sound good for Iran or the "Supreme Leader." That sounds like they should surrender.
Trump also had an interesting answer when he was asked about the flagpoles. He said he had the idea for a long time, including during his first term but "you guys were after me," and he had to focus.

"I was the hunted - now I'm the hunter, " he explained. "Big difference."
