We just reported the wild action at Department of Homeland Security (DHS) head Kristi Noem's briefing.
On Thursday, Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) tried to interrupt the briefing, and then got in a scuffle with agents on the side of the room, was hauled out, and taken down to the ground.

Now if you look at the event, you can see the senator starts loudly interrupting, coming up the side of the room, without initially identifying himself at about 6:30 in this video. Then they stop Padilla, and he's pushing back against them as you can see in the video Bill Melugin posted.
According to Noem, Padilla didn't contact her to talk with her:
Noem's response to this: "I do not know the Senator. He didn't request to meet with me."

She says she'll visit with Padilla and find out what his concerns are, but that this display was inappropriate and not how you have a dialogue https://t.co/rj2J6uNJuQ
Oh, and guess what happened within minutes? The new Democratic narrative was born: those darn evil fascists, how dare they protect Noem! Here's Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer's offering.
.@SenSchumer on @SenAlexPadilla: "I just saw something that sickened my stomach; the manhandling of a United States Senator. We need immediate answers to what the hell went on." pic.twitter.com/UQnA3XYq2N

"I just saw something that sickened my stomach; the manhandling of a United States senator. We need immediate answers to what the hell went on," Schumer ranted. It's funny how he already has the narrative formed immediately.
Maybe tell the U.S. senator not to crash a briefing, come up the side of the room loudly interrupting, or the security/agents are going to react, especially given the threats against ICE?
Oh, and they're already mad and marching. The Hispanic Caucus will walk from the Cloakroom to House Speaker Mike Johnson's office to protest what happened.

Are you serious? This had nothing to do with him being Hispanic. If Padilla had serious questions, he should have contacted Noem; he could have waited for questions, with the reporters and raised his hand at the briefing. People aren't just going to know who he is. Agents have to secure the situation.
Noem was pretty kind, considering, to talk to him afterward. She's saying that she answered his questions, it was cordial and they exchanged phone numbers.
Noem tells me she had a 10-15 minute meeting with Padilla and they swapped phone numbers. Says it was cordial and beneficial. He had concerns about ICE operations & they opened up a line of communication. Said it was a good meeting and things are okay between the two of them…

If the Democrats think they're going to make something out of this, they're going to find once again most Americans will think they're off the rails.
