Watch Rosa DeLauro Screaming at Pete Hegseth - Then the Aftermath Gets Testy

It's always in the eyes.

I mentioned that to my colleague Bob Hoge when he wrote about Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA) spewing foul-mouth rhetoric about ICE. Some thought she looked like she was possessed. But we see the "eye" thing a lot with folks on the left.

But there's another tell, and it's the purple hair.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) questioned Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth during the appropriations hearing on Tuesday. Hegseth was talking about the Trump administration's effort to improve shipbuilding. He said the prior administration had squandered the investment made to do that so they were going to change that. That's when DeLauro started screaming for no reason.

"I want your plan!" she screamed, jabbing her finger at him.

I've had difficulty with the prior administration and I don't mind calling them out. What is your plan for the future? Can we get that in writing and on paper so that we know where you're going because we don't have anything today. We have zip, nada in knowing where you're going!...Give us the details!

You can see Hegseth was a bit astonished at her tone given that there wasn't anything particularly controversial about what was being discussed. Yes, she wanted information. He was very calm and cool in response, saying he'd provide her with whatever details she wanted. He showed he knows how to deal with Democrats when they act like that, a talent that will be necessary, since they do it so often, even if for no real reason.

"Why are you screaming, Rosa DeLauro!" they asked.

Then DeLauro responded, "Why are you lying?"

Now, that's pretty funny. She's responding to them, saying they're lying, posting the video that showed what happened. I assure you, Rep. DeLauro, you were screaming, whether you understand that or you do not.

It sounds like she's not at all pleased about the account responding and she's probably going to make an issue out of that. But she doesn't appear to get how that came across. She could have asked for whatever information she wanted without all that drama. But she has a proclivity for theater as we've seen in the past, such as when she railed about "President Elon Musk."

That narrative failed because it was so wrong, like most of the narratives the Democrats push.

But this video on this day is the perfect contrast of Democrats and Republicans; screaming vs. calm. That's what the American people are seeing, whether DeLauro gets that or not.
