It remains to be seen how the funding battle will work out in the House.
But it's nice to finally see the people's voice being heard about not wanting to continue along in this way with ridiculous, pork-laden 1500-page funding bills that no one reads before they vote and have all kinds of mischief slipped into them.
They were able to reduce it down to a clean bill without all the pork at 116 pages, but Democrats wouldn't vote for it, and 38 Republicans failed to vote for the cleaned-up bill for various reasons.

So we'll have to see how things go or if there will be a shutdown.
But I don't think either President-elect Donald Trump or Elon Musk are being intimidated by the Democrats and their whiny, insulting ways. The effort to create dissension by calling Musk "President" or Trump "Vice President" is so silly; it's like the Dems are playing 12-year-old games.
But as we reported, purple-haired Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) went right along with the cult-think in a wild rant.
Yes, if maybe none of you members of Congress got paid until you did your work competently and on behalf of the people, you'd care about what you were spending taxpayers' money on and wouldn't keep doing this kind of thing.
Basically, she's saying: How dare the people object to the shoddy way we do things? How dare probably the biggest taxpayer in the country, who is the new head of DOGE, have a problem with our spending? And then they play this continual game of "OMG, we must push through the pork now, or everything will blow up!"
Musk had a funny response to DeLauro's rant.
But it's true. They are "swamp creatures" if they keep mucking the government up with all kinds of pork and power deals.
Musk also dealt with the execrable Keith Olbermann.
Warning for graphic language:
Musk is a fascist because he's expressing his opinion on X? Democrats are truly losing their minds.
They can't decide: Is Trump an all-powerful Hitler or a puppet? It doesn't make any sense, but then, it's Democrat logic.
Oh, and yes, the Trump team is aware of the tactic. It's so dumb.
Trump will probably troll them with it in return. But the fact that they're doing it shows how desperate and out of ammunition they are. If this is all they have left, it's pretty pathetic.
Musk broke it down to brass tacks, citing John Stossel, "Either the government should pass sensible bills that actually serve the people or shut it down!"

That's it. Don't leave it to the last minute and then claim, "Oh, crisis!" unless it's passed.
