According to Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), the Homeland Security and Judiciary Committees are conducting an investigation into the mayor of Nashville, Freddie O'Connell, regarding his actions related to ICE, and Ogles announced documents and communications they were asking for from him.

With the support of the House Judiciary Committee, I will be formally requesting all documents and communications from the Mayor’s office related to:

– The amendment of Executive Order 30

—an outrageous directive requiring Nashville employees and first responders to report all communication with federal immigration authorities directly to the Mayor.

– Any internal discussions or documents concerning ICE enforcement actions in Nashville or Davidson County.

– All correspondence involving Metro employees and affiliated NGOs regarding the arrest or detention of criminal illegal aliens within the city or county.

Ogles said he not only stood with ICE, he stood in front of them and with law enforcement.

"I choose my community, my state and my family over this type of nonsense, which is why, due to the remarks of Freddie O'Connell and the potential for aiding and abetting illegal immigration, the Homeland Security and the Judiciary Committees will be conducting an investigation into the mayor of Nashville, his conduct, and whether or not federal dollars have been used in criminal enterprise. I will not back down. I will not relent, and I will always stand with law enforcement. I want my community, and I want my country back."

Think Only Members of Congress Are Blocking ICE? Think Again As TN State Rep. Brags About 'Bullying' Them

Border Czar Tom Homan would not "confirm or deny" whether or not the Trump administration was looking into Mayor O'Connell. Homan said he would be going to Nashville in the future and that the feds would be focusing their resources on areas where they needed to make the streets safer.

Homan said they have to do more in sanctuary cities, but they don't have that problem in places like Florida, where they have a system that works with the local folks like Gov. Ron DeSantis. O'Connell should be thanking ICE for the alleged criminal illegal aliens that they arrested in his area, Homan stated.

Sounds like both Ogles and Homan are doing all they can to make sure ICE can do the job it is supposed to do.
