There was already a big enough problem for Democrats with the question of the cover-up of Joe Biden's cognitive decline. Audio tapes dropped over the weekend of Biden's interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur, and more is coming out when the book by Jake Tapper is formally released on Tuesday. The audio and the impending book heightened things even more.
Now, with the announcement of Biden having aggressive prostate cancer, that has doctors raising questions about why this was not picked up earlier, when you would think that Biden would/should have some of the best medical care in the country. My colleague Rusty Weiss wrote about some doctors' opinions earlier.

But as Townhall reported, even MSNBC was raising questions this morning, with Joe Scarborough questioning Dr. Zeke Emanuel, the brother of Rahm Emanuel, who is an oncologist and has been an associate professor at Harvard Medical School. Emanuel also didn't hold back, saying in his opinion, Biden has had this for some time, and certainly when he was occupying the Oval Office, he told Scarborough.
🚨ON MSNBC: Joe Biden had cancer during his presidency.

There’s no disagreement about that. pic.twitter.com/ZZX7usy7Ie
"Oh yeah. [Biden] did not develop it in the last 100, 200 days. He had it while he was president, he said. “He probably had it at the start of his presidency in 2021. Yes, I don't think there's any disagreement about that."
Biden's health was checked regularly. He had a formal physical we were told about in February 2024; we were told he was "fit for duty." Did he get a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test? There is nothing on that reflected in the February report. It raises some questions because, as Emanuel said, this cancer takes some time to metastasize to the bone.
Emanuel said either they didn't test for it, or they did and we weren't told as the public.
Yet you had people like David Axelrod suggesting the reaction to the cognitive decline question should now be "muted" in response to Biden's new diagnosis.

You can be concerned about Biden and his health, yet still acknowledge some questions need to be answered here, and Democrats can't shut down the discussion of the problems here, no matter what David Axelrod would like.

When even MSNBC is acknowledging the legitimate questions/concerns here, I don't think the conversations are going to be "muted" as Axelrod suggests. They haven't been on Monday. Indeed, the diagnosis, if anything, has raised even more questions, and it's caused even more discussion.
