I reported earlier on how former Obama Secretary of Defense Robert Gates gave the host of "Face the Nation," Margaret Brennan, a real lesson about how the National Security Council doesn't get to dictate to the president. They're supposed to advise him and be loyal to his policies. That's perfectly normal. The intel community doesn't set policy; the president does. The bureaucracy doesn't control policy in the Executive Branch - the president does.

But that wasn't the only lesson Brennan got on Sunday. The other schooling was served up by Secretary of State Marco Rubio on what a "refugee" is. Brennan reflected the bizarre take from the left/media, questioning the Trump administration for "prioritizing white South Africans." She appeared to be referencing the 59 refugees from South Africa that the U.S. received. She asked if the State Department had officially declared the situation a "genocide" yet.
Rubio smacked down the bizarre take, but good.
🚨Marco Rubio methodically schools CBS’ Margaret Brennan on South African refugees:

“These are people that, on the basis of their race, are having their properties taken away from them and their lives are being threatened and in some cases k*lled."
"We've often been lectured by people all over the place about how the United States needs to continue to be a beacon for those who are oppressed abroad. Well, here's an example where we're doing that."
Rubio said there was evidence that people had been murdered, that people have been "forcibly removed" from their properties not only by the government, but also by independent groups encouraged by political parties.
She gave a snippy response that they will stand by to see if that determination of genocide is made. But she was schooled whether she wants to accept it or not.
I have a question for her. There have been a ton of people who have entered illegally who were not fleeing a genocide or facing any true refugee situation. Many just came for economic reasons, but claimed "asylum." Yet, Democrats have set up sanctuary cities, have paid out millions to house illegal aliens, they even got involved in chaos at an ICE facility, and many act like it's racist or mean to enforce the law.

Yet here, you have people who properly applied and who actually face real danger, officially declared or not. Suddenly, their entry is questioned by media hosts like Brennan, yet she has nothing to say about the millions let in with no such excuse? Why would that be? Why is their race something she even mentions, when the only thing that should matter is their true refugee status?
