First, the facts:
In January 2025, President Cyril Ramaphosa signed South Africa’s Expropriation Act 13 of 2024. It allows expropriation (seizure) of land without compensation. The law mandates “just and equitable” compensation in most cases, with judicial oversight for disputes.
Ahh, "equitable." As we've learned all too well, for the Democrat Party, "equity" — along with "inclusion" — doesn't mean to the left what it means to the rest of us, or what it means in the dictionary.
In the wake of South Africa's Expropriation Act, the Trump administration announced plans to bring more than 50 white Afrikaners to the United States, starting on Monday, saying they are "victims of unjust racial discrimination."
Senior Trump advisor Stephen Miller told reporters on Friday:
What’s happening in South Africa fits the textbook definition of why the refugee program was created. This is persecution based on a protected characteristic — in this case, race. This is race-based persecution.
Is there any doubt? Of course not.
Now, Sharpton's intentional duplicity:
Sharpton promptly and predictably trotted out his special kind of willfull ignorance over the administration's plan, absurdly contrasting it with President Donald Trump's "mass deportation" of "the worst of the worst" illegal aliens — most of whom easily crossed the Southern Border during Joe Biden's disastrous presidency — who had committed violent crimes in their respective countries or origin, including murder, rape, and child molestation.
Bloviating on MSNBC (of course), where Sharpton hosts "Politics Nation" (of course), the race-hustler extraordinaire, who has turned the race-hustling industry into a cash cow, ignorantly opined (of course):
The problem here is that you're talking about the mayor of a city where people (illegal aliens) are being held without due process, in many cases. [Trump] has the right to say 'Wait a minute, I want to know what's going oin here?' ...
Now you contrast that, at the same time, ... President Trump is saying to white Afrikaners of South Africa, 'I'll give you refugee status.' So we're bringing in white Afrikaners, who we don't if they're criminals, we don't know whether the went through the legal process in South Africa, — but people right here in New York, we're gonna assume they are all criminals, we're gonna bring them out, and if the mayor wants to say 'Wait a minute, let's have due process,' [Trump] is going to say 'Lock him up.'
It is as blatantly of a double standard that one can get.What is the real policy gonna be? ... Are we gonna have due process, or are we just gonna let everybody go, and can the president just give other people, blanket, 'You're refugees'? So what's the difference, Mr. President, between a refugee and a guy who may be a criminal and may not be a criminal?
Yeah, no. The white Afrikaners applied for asylum and Trump granted it, Al.
Is the difference between people who legally apply for asylum based on valid reasons and people who illegally enter the U.S. really that hard to understand? No. Add in proven past criminal actions and convictions, and Sharpton looks even worse, if that's even possible.
"Reverend" Al Sharpton is upset that Trump is letting in 54 White Afrikanners while deporting people here already.

The Bottom Line
Notice how Sharpton "forgot" to mention that for decades white farmers in South Africa have been subjected to organized attacks on their farms and other properties, and even worse injustices — based solely on the color of their skin? And how Sharpton "forgot" to define those attacks as blatantly racist?
Yeah, me too. Go figure.
