We all are aware of how badly Joe Biden did in his disastrous debate in June 2024.
His people tried to save him by arranging an interview shortly thereafter with ABC's George Stephanopoulos.
But it didn't go well for Biden, as he continued to show he was completely out of it during the interview. Not only did it do nothing to calm the nerves of jittery Democrats, but Biden made bizarre comments about how he would win because he got bigger crowds than Donald Trump (he didn't), and that he was distracted by Trump shouting at him (Trump didn't). It was bizarre, and it should have been a big red flag.
Here were the looks on the faces of George Stephanopoulos' colleagues post-interview.

Biden Claims Trump Threw Him off by 'Shouting' During Debate—but Where's the Evidence?
Despite the obvious problems in the interview, they still appeared to be clamping down on the information.
A few days later, Stephanopoulos told someone on the street that he didn't think Biden could serve another term. But then there was a reaction back, with Stephanopoulos saying he shouldn't have said anything--and the network saying it wasn't their comment.
'Earlier today I responded to a question from a passerby. I shouldn't have,' he told Puck News in response to the video, initially posted on TMZ.
ABC News issued their own statement on what Stephanopoulos had been caught saying.
'George expressed his own point of view and not the position of ABC News.'
Now we're hearing more in an excerpt from a new book, "Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History," from author Chris Whipple, about Stephanopoulos' reaction to the interview:
Whipple described Biden as "hoarse and semi-coherent" throughout the interview and said Stephanopoulos was equally disappointed.
"Stephanopoulos questioned the president gently, like a grandson," Whipple wrote. "Afterward, when I asked the ABC anchor by email for his impressions, he replied: ‘Heartbreaking up close.’"
Fox News Digital reached out to Stephanopoulos’ team for comment.
You're supposed to be a journalist, not a "grandson." But it's because the Biden team knew he was going to be like that, that the Biden team took the risk on Stephanopoulos. But Biden couldn't even do such an easy interview without problems.
So why couldn't we have been told this before? Why are we only hearing this fuller comment now?
Why did Stephanopoulos cut back on his earlier remark, and why did ABC try to disavow his comment on the interview?
We all know the answer to that. We could have exactly predicted that we'd be getting the truth after it no longer mattered.
It's disgraceful. We saw the problems with Biden day after day, and we reported on it as honestly as we could.
But some in the liberal media ignored the problem or were gaslighting us.
In the end, things worked out with Trump winning because the American people had had enough of being dismissed and deceived. The liberal media can't try to clean things up now, when they weren't forthcoming before.
Editor's Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie.
