It's been a bit of a madhouse since the debate with news and leaks dropping on Joe Biden since his disastrous debate. It was like suddenly turned on the switch and allowed the mainstream media to report the truth when it comes to the elderly man with the "poor memory."
All of this was always true, of course, but now they chose to report on it. It's just that now the push was underway to get him out and the machinations were in high gear.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden was refusing delivery on reality and refusing to step aside. And on top of that now, he doesn't even know who to trust since some were coming from inside the house. Plus, Barack Obama pulled his protection. He and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) were huddling to try to figure out the problem. For a man already so addled like Biden, this would only increase his anger. Moreover, is he even getting all the information he should be getting about his political position, is it getting through the "tight inner circle" of aides and family protecting him?

Now there's a new report about how some Democrats are furious with that inner circle for all the stage management around Biden to prevent people from seeing the issues.
One of things they are so furious about is that when people have gone to the tight circle to express concerns, they've not been taken seriously, they've been "brushed aside."

CNN’s MJ Lee reports that Biden’s advisors threatened White House staffers that they will “beat the shit out of” anyone who goes off message about Biden’s health.

One top Democrat told CNN's M.J. Lee, "Everyone who expresses any level of suspicion or contrary views, they call everyone and they beat the sh*t out of them and say, "Stay on message.""
Jake Tapper then seems to get upset and asks is there any sense that what all these people with concerns are getting through this circle? Lee said the White House responded that Biden is "sharp." She said she got a statement from White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates that Biden has always said that reporters questioning his age is fair game. Lee disagreed with the statement, saying Biden has not always indicated that she thought such questions were fair. She says she's been on the receiving end when he's refused to acknowledge or respond to polls with questions about his age.
This was the administration that claimed they were bringing decency back? So much for decency and norms, when you're threatening staffers who try to tell you the truth.
How does it feel to have the country run by unelected people like this? This isn't how any of this is supposed to work.
As Matt Vespa detailed at our sister site Townhall, these sound like "secret police-like" tactics, trying to keep everyone in line and acting like a "loyalty police." Things are being run by "family and staff who are effectively family" and there's more about how they don't like delivering bad news to Biden.

We wrote about some of this before, referencing a report that Biden was losing his "independence."
The report suggests they're afraid to tell him because they're too close to him and he wouldn't take it well. So people can't tell him his chances have sharply narrowed and his path to 270 is limited. There was some pushback in the report, saying a source close to the inner circle said they were not running effectively running the White House. Well, duh, what else would they say?
Even Rachel Maddow was concerned that reality wasn't getting through to Biden. When you lose her from the narrative, you know the narrative is failing, no matter how much you try to control it.
