Joe Biden finally did an interview that wasn't completely a softball interview.
The questions weren't particularly tough from CNN's Erin Burnett, but she did ask him about some basic facts, such as the polls being against him. Now if you know Biden, nothing ticks him off more than being challenged, and something like that definitely challenges him.
Burnett said that the polls showed that voters trusted former President Donald Trump more on the economy. She ticked off several problems with the Biden economy including the cost of buying a home which has doubled, real income is down, economic growth is down "far short of expectations," and consumer confidence was at a "two-year low."
"With less than six months to go until Election Day, are you worried you're running out of time to turn that around?" she asked him. Biden looked out of it while she was talking, and his response was pure denial of reality.
CNN: "Voters, by a wide margin, trust Trump more on the economy ... are you worried that you're running out of time to turn [the economy] around?"

"We've already turned around," Biden claimed falsely. He simply refuses to accept the facts, claiming the polling data "has been wrong."
Bottom line? Trump is ahead in the polls, including in all the swing states. That's what Joe can't deal with.

You can tell he was really ticked off too, with how he raised his voice at her and argued that we have the "strongest economy in the world."
CNN: "GDP last week was far short of expectations..."

BIDEN: "No it wasn't"

Burnett reminded him that GDP was "far short of expectations."
He just denied that fact. But that was true.
Then he went even more off the rails with his next lie. Biden said that no one occupying the Oval Office had the "run we had in terms of creating jobs and bringing down inflation!"

The vast majority of those jobs were recovered from the pandemic β and inflation, which is accelerating again, has averaged a sky-high 5.6% under Biden. pic.twitter.com/Uk0DLDvCDx
Then he straight-up lied and said that inflation was at 9 percent when he came into office.
In fact, inflation was at 1.4 percent when he came in and he helped to drive it up above 9 percent.
Did he just say inflation was at 9% when he came to office? pic.twitter.com/605Hm4dXie

Then he thinks costing us hundreds of dollars more per month, that he's forcing us to pay on everything else, is somehow made up by him arguing against junk fees? Yeah, no, and it isn't the government's role to get involved with private contracts anyway. He blames corporate greed to deflect from his own blame.
That's concerning when someone is so unhinged from reality, that they would tell such a lie about inflation.
Something is wrong, and it just keeps getting worse.
