Kamala Descends Into a Festival of Word Salads, Throws Israel Under the Bus

Joe Biden is 81 years old. But his problems extend well beyond age and include bad policy, incoherence, and making up all kinds of fantasy.

The House also has now voted to open an impeachment inquiry into his involvement in the questionable financial dealings of his family.

He is also hitting some of the lowest approval numbers ever in polling

But one of the big problems that people have with the idea of him being impeached or stepping aside is the backup: Kamala Harris. She's not 81, but she has her own set of issues, including questions about coherence.

Harris just did an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O'Donnell. I don't know what was going on with her during this interview, but something was quite off. She's always word salad-y, but she was extra incoherent in this interview, saying a lot of things while saying nothing throughout the interview.

Let's hear about how this is "the most election of our lifetime."

Um, most what, Kamala? It's funny, she says it with such conviction, nodding her head, without even saying anything. O'Donnell just sits there not saying, "What the heck are you talking about?"

She talks about people trying to divide the country. Is she talking about how Joe Biden has demonized millions of Americans as extremists for supporting former President Donald Trump? Yes, that is awful. Maybe she means they have been the "most" divisive administration. One of the many reasons he and Harris should be voted out.

There was this word salad. This is a long sentence that doesn't say much.

Then there was this falsehood, about Republicans wanting to ban books, and Democrats wanting to ban assault weapons.

First, I doubt if she could define an "assault weapon." Given the things Joe Biden has said, I doubt either of them knows the first thing about guns. But second, Republicans don't want to ban books, they support parents who don't want porn in their kids' school libraries. Schools should always have age-appropriate materials for kids. That's not "banning books" -- anyone still has access to those books. But the school shouldn't be providing porn and Democrats seem to be in favor of that.

Then the border czar spoke about the border -- that she's done nothing to solve -- but she tried to attack Republicans saying that the Democrats had "offered a plan."

It's been three years of a complete mess when they've done nothing, destroying what had been working under former President Donald Trump. Now she wants to claim they have a "plan" to deal with it.

What's the plan? They want Republicans to sign aboard a deal that they only start expeditiously not letting people in if it gets to more than 3000 or 5000 a day. That's the sticking point, as I wrote about the other day. In other words, they want the Republicans to agree to allow the door to be halfway open instead of all the way open with an arbitrary number, as opposed to just applying the law at person number one. She should be hiding her head in shame as the border czar calls this a "plan."

She says securing the border will have "real consequence" as though that's a bad thing, when not securing it has resulted in lots of bad things from drugs to overwhelmed communities facing the extra expenses of dealing with illegal aliens. But she seems not at all concerned about that.

Then she tried to dictate to Israel.

Harris said that it was "important" that "there be a lessening of the intensity and more precision around how Israel goes after Hamas." Again, more of this attempt to tie their hands as they go after the terrorists. I think this is the only war I've heard of where the people who were attacked are somehow required to have their hands tied behind them when they're already doing all they can to try to prevent civilian casualties.

Then I have to finish up with this monumental word salad, where she again tries to throw Israel under the bus -- telling them what they can't do, to defend their own country.

"We do also need to focus on what is happening now toward what is possible and should be possible the day after as we call it," Harris said in a mangled fashion. She said they were committed to a two-state solution, and "to get to a place for the principles we have stated, will insist there be no reoccupation of Gaza by the Israelis, there will be no forced displacement of Palestinians, but we work toward equal measures of security, prosperity, and freedom for Israelis and Palestinians so that is a big part of our goal at this point as well to do what is possible to lay the pathway for that possibility and goal."

Can she possibly say "possible" any more? What the heck did she just say? Meanwhile, O'Donnell just sits there without questioning this mess. I get she's talking about a two-state solution and again trying to tell the Israelis how they should control their security. But Hamas doesn't want a two-state solution. So unless they change, that's not a "possible" goal. It's Hamas that needs to change here, not Israel. You can't make Hamas more acceptable by trying to hem in Israel defending itself.

But unfortunately, this is our "backup" for all Joe's problems.
