Fauci and Walensky Attended Gridiron Dinner Linked to D.C. Elite COVID Outbreak

The D.C. elite are getting hit hard with COVID this week, with many coming down with it after attending the Gridiron Club dinner on Saturday.

According to the Club president, Thomas DeFrank, at least 14 people have come down with it after attending the dinner.

In a note sent to Gridiron members, club president Thomas DeFrank wrote, “As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, we know of 14 guests at Saturday’s dinner who have tested positive for Covid. There is no way of being certain about when they first contracted Covid. But they did interact with other guests during the night and we have to be realistic and expect some more cases. Except in cases of public officials who have on their own disclosed their status, we will protect the privacy of guests who test positive.”

Among the people who have tested positive are Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo (who was a featured speaker), and Jamal Simmons who is the communications director for Kamala Harris. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) have also tested positive.

Those are some of the public people who have confirmed that they are positive. But at least six members of the press and members of the White House and National Security Council staff have also tested positive.

Joe Biden didn’t go to the dinner, but people like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Centers for Disease Control director Dr. Rochelle Walensky did. Most of the people at the dinner did not wear masks, including Fauci. People were required to be vaccinated but they were not required to show a test. There wasn’t any social distancing either. Just another reminder that vaccination doesn’t prevent you from spreading it. They even had some skits that featured actors dressed as the coronavirus, like large, green bouncing balls with red frills. And they had a performer pretending to be Fauci singing to the real Fauci in the audience: “Doctor, doctor, give me some clues, we’ve got a bad case of COVID blues.” That might have hit a little closer to home than they thought.

Even though Kamala Harris was in close contact with Simmons, she is going to continue her public schedule, according to her press secretary.

Simmons was at the event when Barack Obama visited the White House. Obama was diagnosed with COVID about three weeks ago. People were not wearing masks at the White House event. Biden, Harris, and other officials were at the White House event.

You can see him hug Obama here.

It sure looks like the Gridiron dinner might have been a super spreader. We likely haven’t seen the end of people announcing yet, when you take into account the dinner and then the White House Obamacare event.
