The worse it gets, the worse it gets.
If California Democrat voters don't hold embattled Gov. Gavin Newsom and worthless Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass responsible for the deadly wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles Country, I'm afraid that the already no-longer-Golden State is going to get markedly worse.
In this article, I'm going to focus on the mind-numbing ineptitude of Bass.
As exclusively reported by DailyMail on Friday, a damning leaked memo has revealed that Bass demanded the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) cut an extra $49 million from its budget just one week before the wildfires broke out.
The demand was in addition to $17.6 million in cuts already included in the mayor's latest budget. The extra cuts would have shut down 16 LA fire stations and crippled the department's ability to respond to emergencies, according to the Daily Mail report.
The damning memo is dated January 6, just one day before the devastating Palisades Fire broke out.
Here's more:
According to sources, [the memo] was sent from LAFD "top brass" at City Hall to division chiefs and captains after a fraught meeting the previous Friday between Chief Kristin Crowley and Mayor Bass.
"The LAFD is still going through a FY [financial year] 2024/2025 $48.8 million budget reduction exercise with the CAO [City Attorney's Office]," the document said.
"The only way to provide a cost savings would be to close as many as 16 fire stations (not resources, fire stations); this equates to at least one fire station per City Council District" [the document continued].
Incredible, isn't it?
Bass, along with Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom, has no problem redistributing taxpayer money to support illegal aliens, drug addicts, repeat offenders, and untold numbers of homeless people, but when it comes to fire safety in areas area regularly plagued by wildfires, deep cuts must be made in favor of "all of the above."
I've said it before, and I'll continue to say it:
Continue to play stupid games by voting Democrat, Californians who do so, and continue to win stupid prizes. While the deadly fires impact the lives of all Californians in affected areas, I'm somewhat less sympathetic to those who continue to vote Democrats like Newsom and Bass into office. Is that wrong? I'm good with it, regardless.
Anyway, the memo continues:
The details of this plan have not yet been developed. This is a worst-case scenario and is NOT happening yet.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it won't happen at all, given the last week.
But what if it had happened? Would Los Angeles County Democrats have even batted an eye? I doubt it. After all, there are oodles of illegal aliens to take care of, repeat offenders to deal with, and "proper pronoun" usage to worry about.
One disgusted currently-serving 25-year veteran of the LAFD told Daily Mail:
They did not want this out. It's an internal memo not to be distributed. It comes from top brass downtown, City Hall. They're trying to allocate more money for the homeless, and they need to start taking from everybody.
But we already exhausted our budget. It's already tapped. That's why they cut the fire academy in half, so they could save more money. That's why we're not testing if hydrants work any more. We're doing everything we can to save money.
Memo to Democrats:
Rather than howling at the moon about "climate change" being responsible for the wildfire spread, you should direct your criticism to the politicians you elected.
